Former NFL scout think Mendoza is a 4th round prospect

Well I hope he's overrated at the next level...since we can't get him.
I want to be clear that my evaluation of him isn’t being harsh because I think he is a bad player. As someone who likes to evaluate talent it is disappointing to see Indiana beat teams so easily. When you look at his stats it’s very clear they aren’t sustainable; insanely high completion %, yards per pass and TD ratio. I was hoping to see him face some adversity. Hopefully Miami can provide more of a challenge.

The issue isn’t his throws in games that are basically over. It’s the fact that he doesn’t have to play under any kind of pressure. I was hoping to see him with his back against the wall and have to step up to carry his team to a win. All we’ve got so far in the playoffs is Indiana systematically dismantling teams in every phase of the game. If I’m the Raiders I want to see him play when everything is going wrong at least once.

Luckily we don't have to worry about any of that. Mendoza is going top 3. Let's be thankful for that.

Mendozas evaluation for me is, is he worth the risk to spend assets on if given the opportunity.

I say yes he is

He's worth it IMO as well. He's not an Andrew Luck level guy, but he's definitely top of this weak class.

I really like Sarratt if we can get him with our first 3rd round pick.
Sadly you are probably going to see him in the AFC East, but in a New England, or Buffalo jersey. Because I'm not seeing him get past both of those teams in the 2nd round. But if he does reach us with our 3rd rounder it would be a outstanding pick.

Yes of course the players I want always get snatched up before we select.

Objectively speaking, he didn’t really play great in any of those games (completed 64% of his passes for 3 TDs and 3 INTs). He played good enough to win, but his efficiency was significantly lower. I’ve been hoping to see a Joe Burrow esqe game where he puts up stats like tonight in a close game. To me, he still looks like an above average game manager when games are difficult.
