Miami Dolphins: Per sources, Wagner offensive line coach Ben Martin will join the Dolphins' staff as an offensive assistant.

Here is some info on Martin. He has connection to Sherman and Tannehill at Texas A&M.

Staten Island, NY - Ben Martin, who spent last season serving as running backs coach at Princeton after spending two seasons as an assistant at Texas A&M.
In 2012, Martin was an integral part of a Tigers’ program that posted its biggest turnaround in more than 20 years. Princeton went 5-5 in Martin’s one season with the Tigers, including a 4-3 Ivy League record, marks that came one year after going 1-9 overall and1-6 in the Ivies. Last season’s Tigers rushed for 100-plus yards in nine of 10 games, headed by a 262-yard effort vs. Lafayette and including 194 and 184-yard rushing days vs. Brown and Yale, respectively.

“Ben did an excellent job coaching our running backs at Princeton,” said Tigers’ head coach Bob Surace, who, like Hameline, was one of 20 finalists for the prestigious 2012 Eddie Robinson National FCS Coach of the Year Award. His attention to detail and high-energy style helped us continue our success running the football.

"Prior to his tenure at Princeton, Martin served under former NFL head coach Mike Sherman as Offensive Line Quality Control Coach at Texas A&M for two years and was a part of the Aggies’ Big 12 South Division title in 2010.

“Ben Martin will be a great asset to head football coach Walt Hameline, the offensive staff, as well as the entire tradition-rich Wagner College Seahawks football program,” Sherman said. “Ben was a tireless worker and efficient worker for me at Texas A&M and possesses a real sense and understanding of offensive football and offensive line play.

“He is well-schooled on the fundamentals and techniques necessary for an offensive lineman to be successful at any level,” Sherman added. “Ben has a passion and enthusiasm to make those around him better- whether it be in coaching, recruiting or the mentoring of young men.”

The 30-year old Martin has been an assistant coach for four collegiate programs since 2007. Prior to his two years at Texas A&M under Sherman, who won three NFC North titles while with the Green Bay Packers, Martin spent two seasons as the run-game coordinator and recruiting coordinator at Merrimack College.

While at Merrimack, Martin helped develop one of the most impressive Division II offenses in the nation. During his second year, when Merrimack won the Northeast -10 Conference title, the Warriors led the conference in scoring, total and rushing offense, as well first downs and fewest sacks allowed. Merrimack averaged 482.6 yards of total offense and 251.6 yards of rushing offense per game, both figures that ranked in the top-five nationally.

Martin began his coaching career at Curry College (MA) as an offensive line/tight ends coach. Curry, which won a conference title in 2007 and earned its first playoff victory in school history, led the conference in scoring (36.5), rushing (206.4) and total offense (416.9) that season.

He may be good, but it's not a good sign that they immediately want to go back to another Texas A & M guy. Turner is from there as well.

Not necessarily. Just because thats where Sherm and Tanne came from doesn't mean we are still just going after ties. I
