The Philadelphia Flyer centre was on the ice for warm-up for Thursday's game against the Toronto Maple Leafs, but he has been scratched from the game lineup and a trade may be imminent.
Sources tell TSN the Nashville Predators and Philadelphia Flyers are close to a deal that would send at least two players and draft picks to Philadelphia in exchange for Forsberg, but that the deal is not yet officially done.

Damn, BIG roll of the dice for Nashville, but if he can stay healthy through the playoffs, wow, what a war it's going to be in the Western Conference playoffs.

EDIT: Nashville gives up a 1st, 3rd, Scottie Upshaw and Ryan Parent, that's is a pretty package Philly is getting back. They are just waiting for the league to give it's approval.

If Forsberg can stay healthy they would be the favorites.

And that would be three straight cup wins for the south as well.

That would make me VOMIT...and make Gary Bettman dance in the streets...

The question is, would anyone in Nashville give a rats ***?

I don't think they are faves though, like I said in the NHL thread, they remind me of last years Red Wings. They are getting fat playing crappy divisional games all year. They have a lot to prove to me in the playoffs.

ESPNEWS had Barry Melrose on, saying that Forsberg goes from the WORST team in the NHL to one of the best right now. Good pick-up for the Preds.

Reunited with Paul Kariya. Go Preds....my Flyers better get something decent in return.

Ryan parent great D man prospect!! Scottie upshall!! Lots of upside !! And a 1st rounder!! philly will have 2 ist Rders this year in a weak draft!!

I do think the Berg will resign with Philly after the season

It only figures with the Flyers luck that they might get the first pick and there are no Crosbys, Malkins and AOs in this years draft to be had.

I could see Foppa heading back to Sweden or back to the Avs before he goes back to Philly. The Flyers better get a top goalie with one of their picks.

that'll just make it tougher for the wings to catch em for first and the presidents trophy... but we do play each other 5 more times before the end of the season... it'll be a fun stretch run...

only once in the past 10-15 years has te team with the best overall record won the stanley cup

believe me i know it means nothing to win the presidents trophy, the redwings have won it plenty recently without doing jack in the playoffs... but id rather get that 1 seed than the 4... and whoever gets that first place spot in the central division have a good shot at having the best overall record...

Nashville has a team?

It's a trade the Flyers HAD to make, as the uncertainty of Forsberg not resigning was just too great. Plus they cant play him because he always gets hurt, and getting hurt right before the deadline is not going to help the trade value he has. I dont know if what they got is ideal.....but at least they got something.

I've heard he still hasn't ruled out coming back to Philadelphia anyway, and the Flyers will have 20 million plus in cap most likely, not to mention the young talent they already have, and whatever else they'll get for the other guys they might trade, like Robert Esche & Derian Hatcher, so next year they'll at least TRY to be back as contenders.

Um, yes, Nashville has a team. More people give a crap than you think...I wish I didn't live 3 hours away or I'd go to games.
