Justin Forsett - RB - Ravens

Justin Forsett (knee) returned to practice Friday.

As expected. Forsett sat out Wednesday and Thursday, but remained upbeat about his chances of playing Week 14 against the Dolphins. Fire him up as an RB1. Miami has been shredded on the ground the past two weeks.

Torrey Smith - WR - Ravens

Torrey Smith (knee) returned to practice Friday.

Justin Forsett (knee) was back, as well. Both sat out Wednesday and Thursday, but continued to suggest it was merely for rest. Their Friday returns was away the worry, and put them on track to play against the Dolphins. Smith has been scoring at a TD-per-game clip the past seven games, making him a solid WR2/3.

Damn. Expected Forsett to be fine but was really hoping we'd catch a break with Smith

Ravens are averaging 27.5 ppg on the road too. Guess we get no break with their offense. Hopefully we can take advantage of them not having Ngata on defense.

Doesnt matter much to me now that we've heard that haloti ngata will be out. That's a bigger relief than either forsett or torrey smith. Rbs can be easily replaced and they have plenty of other talent to throw too, but replacing a guy like ngata doesnt happen. They just lost their Cameron wake. Worse probably.

why do i keep seeing finnegan saying he's "50/50"

i thought this cat was a go for sunday???

The #2 TE, Gillmore was at practice but didn't appear to be doing any work. That will definitely affect their RZ offense and how much they run a 2TE set.

I wonder how many pass plays/receptions it will take the defenders to aim for Smith's knee. I'm guessing it will be a target right away as they will want to test how healthy he really is.

I'm guessing the coaching staff doesn't want him to say one way or the other if he's playing. Based on all of the practice reports, he looks good and has taken all of the reps with the #1 in the portion of practice they are allowed to see. If this coaching staff didn't think he was going to play I'm sure they would have Stanford and Aiken taking those reps because we all know they need them.

Go back and look at what teams the Ravens have beat. Miami by 10.

Bet it takes more plays then the Ravens going at Finnegan's ankle. I bet they start the game with a screen to Finnegan's side of the field and the WR dives at his legs right from the get go.

i don't ever see miami go at a guys injury with their play...just dont recall ever seeing it so doubt it happens here...i did see the jets tight end go after wakes lower leg after he cut him multiple times already on a play down the sideline

wake should have crushed cumberland for that crap...it's one thing to try and cut a guy blind like that but to continue to go after it play after play...dirty...about as dirty as steve smith plays on the road...

They keep saying to start Forsett bc of the last two weeks rushing D. Other than that this run D has been middle of the pack but not awful. I say go 5-2 more and stuff it early.

I think a lot of this can be attributed to who they have played on the road. They defenses just aren't that good. The only two good ones are Cleveland and Cincy who are rated as 9th and 10th in points per game and they scored 23 on Cleveland and 24 on Cincy. The rest, Indy (18th), Tampa (23rd), Pittsburgh (21st) and New Orleans (24th) are bottom tier defenses and all give up over 23 points per game. And they really pad this stat by scoring 48 vs. Tampa Bay.

The Ravens defense has also allowed 25.88 points per game on the road which is not good at all and will more than likely only get worse without Ngata.

I agree. With so much at stake for the winner of this game I think this is just going to be one of those games that gets chippy early and often.

Regardless of who lines up for either team, we simply need to step up and win this game.

This team should be good enough to beat any team, healthy of not. The players know what is at stake.

Now we'll find out what kind of heart they have.

well one good thing in our favor is we have never allowed a 200 yard rushing effort from a team 3 games in a row...

probably means we are in for 198
