Many thought Hartline was being overpaid, and did not want to keep him. Thankfully, they were not making Dolphin decisions. Same was true on Gibson, who could not play the slot.

I know nothing of fact on this but, have to think Philbin had some input on our receivers No matter who it was, VERY WELL DONE.

I predicted 8-8 or 9-7. I clicked the 8-8 button in the thread but mentioned that I considered 9-7.

In the most overrated and underrated player thread, I named Reshad Jones as overrated and Charles Clay as underrated. That was probably my best call. I can normally isolate one or two players in those categories. I only listed two players in each one, with Javorski Lane as overrated and Carpenter as underrated. I posted that I knew Carpenter would be cut but that he was undervalued around here and would succeed elsewhere.

Sturgis' struggles have surprised me. I was wrong about that. Wallace has been more of a klutz than my impression from Pittsburgh. I expected Tannehill would manage at least 7.2 yards per attempt. He could still get there. I thought New England would beat us twice and all season I knew I would have a wager on the Patriots if that spread was below New England -3. Patterson at cornerback was a revelation, the highest caliber of play that I've seen at that position on this team in more than a decade. Easily above Grimes. When we signed Patterson I didn't think much of him. It's imperative we make an investment toward 2014. Injuries are more random that anything else.

The offense looks varied and dangerous. That may surprise me more than anything. I knew Philbin came from a great offensive program in Green Bay but I attributed much of it to Rodgers. Right now our designs are among the most sophisticated in the league, as long as we invest a moderate amount of rushing attempts.

Lamar Miller failing in the open field surprised me. That was a strength as a Cane.

Also, I wagered over 6.5 wins. It still drives me nuts when so many websites and networks devote time to fantasy. I have no respect for fantasy sports. Rightly or wrongly, I associate those fans with ones who want nothing but tinkerbell passing offense.

Congrats on the over, easiest pick I've seen in years. Sorry I did not go more.

This team is a bit crazy to figure. The 4th down is a great example. Forth and 5, with the season in the balance. Throw to Clay who has not caught a pass all day, and depend on Sims to block, which he has not done all year. Yet, complete, Sims makes a great block, and we are alive. Go figure.

Since I always predict us to go 19-0 and never to lose again in the history of the world... I'd have to go back to my off season wish list for free agency and the draft to claim anything noteworthy, see below:

Wallace as the FA., Cord. Patterson as 2a and Eifert as 2b. (and although I know you didn't ask:..Ansah at 1, Resign Fasano, Hartline, Starks, Let Long and Smith walk...pick up Brent Grimes and T. Mathieu as 3b, MLB at 3a, )
Great Offseason- Playoffs etc. etc.

For the record: After watching film on most of the draftable receivers, most are slow in and out of the breaks, Allen is slow and catches the ball into his body too much. Patterson has unique perspective on his route running and YAC, excellent vision, head fakes, catches away from his body and a passion for the game that translates into him making the most of every play. He will be the best with coaching at creating separation.

So in essence I got the Wallace, Grimes, Hartline, Starks, Long, and Smith moves right. Allen's had a good year but Patterson is coming on strong. Still wish we had kept Fasano, even though I missed greatly on Clay. Ansah and Mathieu are probably washes.

the only thing that i should really fess up about was i said egnew would not make an nfl roster and never halp anyone...and he's a #3 tight end who's blocking has really improved...not exactly way off the mark but he's a pro and he's contributing and i never thought that would happen

maybe i was too high on reshad jones...seems like it right now...but i still think he's a solid strong safety and man cover guy...

i also thought jon martin would be serviceable at left tackle...turned out that was wrong...i didnt like the hartline money still dont like him as my #2 wr frankly feel mathews is better suited for it already but he's been dependable for the most part

i guess also i couldn't see the gibson slot thing just cause there was no evidence of him playing a read leverage and coverage slot wr in st louis...that was truly a great call by the front office cause it was nothing but a projection going in...although mathews give us a more vertical element from there...

wheres the thread that we get to talk about the things we nailed??? ha ha...

I said that Sherman would have to improve his playcalling and we would have to improve our TD scoring record and we might just nick the playoffs. I was in favour of the Gibson deal and the Grimes signing. I didn't rate Sims, Davis, Gillislee, but I thought Dallas Thomas could work out well in year one.

I didn't see Tannheill improving to this point this season, I didn't see the defense creating as many turnovers as it has. We're about in line with my TD-scoring gut feeling, which is a pleasant surprise given I said I was concerned even when we had Keller, Gibson, Binns on the roster.
