We've all seen many media rankings of Miami's players. Let's get an idea of what the forum thinks and projects for this year. To make it simple, rank a player or position as top 10, middle of the pack (11-20) or at the bottom (21-32). Let's start with the OL and because we do not know who will be starting, go with what you expect from the position at OG's.

Albert- Have to go top 10 here IF he stays healthy.

James- 21-32. It takes time for a rookie to adapt.

Pouncey/?- Not knowing what happens with Pouncey makes this tuff. I'm going with 11-20 overall.

LG- 21-32

RG- 21-32

Albert should be top 10.
James should be 15-30. (A few teams have holes at RT)
Pouncey should be top 10, but no way to know with the injury and other drama.
Dallas Thomas (if he starts) should be 32-60.
Shelley Smith should be 20-45.

All of this could change if they shuffle positions though.

Agree, and this would leave us at below average overall. How much below is the question.

I'd like to refrain from answering until after camp and 3 pre-season games.

Can't really say at this point, though it's not looking too good, considering how much the DL was abusing them in OTAs w/o pads.

I would rate Richie Incognito, on a scale from 1 to overcompensating, a solid 76.

On the real,

Albert is top 10
Pouncey is top 10 without a doubt
Shelley Smith is 21-32
James I can see being 15 at best this year, but likely a 21-32
Dallas Thomas 21-32

This is based on what we know so far. As far as we know, one or two of these guys could come into cap with their pants on fire (not from herpes), and excel.

Pouncey is top 10

Albert eh 10ish

The rest are below average or rookies

I would agree with that I think. My hope is that after the season people will think you were wrong because Lazor finds ways to move Tanny and get the ball out of his hands quickly (less post snap decisions). Tell him to make pass A or dump it to a back or TE underneath. That may help make them look better than the talent level. I see the talent about as you do. Just okay, but hopefully we can cover it with smarter play design.

hopefully we have some real men on the line this year, (and I am talking about them as a whole and not just the snake). The tackle play last year was some of the worst I have ever seen. I cant imagine a scenario even with james being a rookie that the bookends would pass protect worse than last year.

Better coaching should help but everyone outside of Pouncy and Albert are question marks.

IF we compare to Foles, with Lazor not calling plays, Tannehill got rid of the ball quicker and on 678 pass plays held the ball too long (over 4 seconds) for 3 sacks, 1 hit, and 0 hurries. Foles had 386 pass plays for 6 sacks, 5 hits, and 2 hurries.

I also hope I am wrong.

Benton does have better fits for the ZBS but, cannot say he has better blocking talent overall than we had last opening day. I really hope to be proven wrong.

This is my hope. A great coach can make a world of difference for a unit. Yes they're young/inexperienced overall, but they're all starting fresh with one of the best in the business.
