Fox Sports has Fins as only 4 teams with a great offseason

He was not an average player according to Redskin fans. He was inconsistent his 1st couple years, lost 25lbs to get down to 325lbs and last year played at a probowl level. Was it to get paid? We will find out. The Redskins were 5th in the NFL running right up his a$$, over LG, with a Rb no one thought was that good before last year.

And dont tell me Dolphin fans didnt want Dockery, there is a search function on this board. Maybe we overpaid, but Dolphin fans wanted the talent that Dockery possesses, the Bills just wanted it more I guess.

I didnt see Michael Huff on the All-Rookie team, but i saw Donte Whitner.

I'm not the only one saying this...

Derrick Dockery, G, Bills/Eric Steinbach, G, Browns: I'll be the first to admit I can not evaluate offensive guard play, but I do know the Vikings' acquisition of guard Steve Hutchinson for record money barely improved their rushing offense. I doubt Dockery and Steinbach will have a great impact either.

I don't remember phin fans wanting Dockery, Steinbach and Dielman but no Dockery, so don't make up things

Seriously though, even Dolphin fans have to laugh at the hypocrisy of the media.

If you go by media reports and Dolphin fans from last offseason, the Dolphins lost one of the greatest coaches in football, one of the top 5 TE's in football, one of the greatest offensive coordinators in football, and are thinking about cutting one of the best QB's in football.

Why do fans even pay attention to the media anyways? If they say something good about our team, they are brilliant, if they bash our team, they are morons. Whats the point?

Dolphin fans should know better by now, but I guess all fans should know better.
Noone and i mean noone that i remember ever wanted Dockery, all the talk was Steinbach and Dielman on here. Thats cause we all knew Dockery was WAY overrated. I hope we sign Matt Lehr cause i think hes just as good as Dockery at ALOT lower price tag.

Im not the only saying this.

Steinbach and Dielman had Rudi Johnson and Tomlinson. Dockery had Ladell Betts.

5. Derrick Dockery, G, Washington Redskins: He is a young player who is coming off his best season. He is strong and physical and is just now hitting his peak. (Signs with Bills, March 2)

12. OG Derrick Dockery
A classic "road grader" type in-line blocker with great power and the ability to knock defenders off the line of scrimmage. Not quite in the class of Steinbach or Dielman, but not too far behind, either.

That's what I'm saying, an average player and he got the money of a top free agent

I'm still waiting for the evidence about Dockery and phin fans wanting him...

I posted a link, but magically its shrinking in size and I cant access it. You wouldnt have anything to do with that now would you?

I don't know how this could be considered a great offseason yet. We have no starting LT, or LG, we only have two QBs on the roster, one who has started one game in his career, the other has been injured for the past two years. We haven't done anything to upgrade our secondary, we now have a backup TE as our starter, we don't even have a backup RB at this point. But we did sign Joey Porter so I guess that makes everything ok. Hopefully around the first or 2nd week of June things will look better, but as of right now I would say this offseason has been anything but great.

I agree. Miami really needs to work more on offense at this point IMO. Or they will be loosing a bunch of 7-10 (ish) games this year and thats no fun to watch.

Exactly. I didn't say that the Fins had a bad off season. I was knocking a "media maven" who claimed they had one of the best off seasons so far -- and names 1 player. All he's looking at is big names not what teams are trying to accomplish. He doesn't take into account all the players that Miami cut, some of whom are starters, and most of who haven't been replaced yet.

OL is one of the hardest positions to transition from college to the pros, so the usual learning curve for rookies takes a while, even for 1st rounders. It doesn't matter if the draft is "deep" in OL. That will pay dividends a couple of years down the line, but not likely to help much in 2007.

Hard to transition from college to pro's.. i will agree with you ont hat.. but it does happen sometimes look at Ferguson and Mangold from the Jets. Plus this draft has alot of Linemen Gil Brandt says that can come in and start right away from rounds 1-3. And Gil Brandt knows his stuff.. So I believe him, and think we are gonna strike it rich in this years draft.

I think Marcus McNeill did a pretty damn good job last year...
