Fox Sports Power Rankings

this seems to be popular putting us in the 26-28 place power ranking. Nobody nationally seems to know what we think. I remember going into last season and many if not all of us were super Skeptical about the prediction that we were good enough to play in the super bowl. we knew we weren't but enjoyed the press. Speaking of press this year they seem to overlook the addition of Joey Porter. He replaces donnie spragen, that right there should make us better than last year alone, let's hypothetically say 7-9 for just porter and that should put us middle of the pack, especially since the NFC is so inferior to the AFC. Now bring in a solid veteran who is efficient and knows how, HOW to read a defense. we haven't had that in a very long time. Add Coach Cam Camerons Offensive genius plus Def HC Dom Capers Genius Defensive Game planning and that certainly makes a recipe for much more improvement than last year. Yes, O-line is a huge ? mark but we are bringing in athletic and smart Olineman in. That should help us there. We shall see. Special teams should be better except for kickoffs cuz Olindo was excellent at kickoffs and that alone will be missed.

I just think the media is not on the fins bandwagon this year. they drank the Saban cool-aid and were embarassed, yet for some reason they always drink the Arizona Cardinals cool-aid and are always are wrong what will be different this year?

A team that's gone 4-12, 9-7, 6-10 over the last 3 years and has changed starting QBs and is installing a new offence has to prove that it is a good team and deserving of a higher ranking.

Almost every team this time of year looks like it's better than last year's team.

and yet, the Cardinals (who have had a worse record) had the 28th ranked defense is ranked much higher than the Phins. The Chiefs who have lost their 2 best lineman and have a holdout at RB AND big questions at QB as well as a suspect defense are also ranked higher.
Oh yes, I see your point

Until the Dolphins prove otherwise, the ranking is well deserved.

Wrong. They should realistically be ranked in the low 20's, NOT 28th. Just based on defense alone they should be ranked higher.
I am looking forward to this season because this team IMO is more talented than Saban's 9-7 team and more talented than Dave Wannstedt's 11-5 team his 1st season here (Fiedler at QB and Lamar Smith at RB).
I think this pervasive lack of respect will give the team an edge (at least early in the season). Just 2 weeks ago a Cowboy fan was trolling on this site talking smack and basically penciling in a win for his team in week 2. I don't he realizes what Romo is in for when he faces our front 7 in our home opener.

The rankings are what they are, just rankings. That's where the Dolphins are starting and until they prove otherwise that's where they are, where they finished last year. You can hope and wish they should be ranked higher but every team thinks that at this time of the year. They are right where they belong until they actually DO something different. That isn't "wrong", that is exactly correct.

27. Miami Dolphins

No one seems to be expecting much out of the Dolphins this season. A year after being considered a Super Bowl favorite by several talking heads, the 'Phins are now generally being talked about as a bottom of the barrel NFL team. It's certainly been an odd off-season for Miami. The Saban debacle was followed by the Daunte Culpepper mess, a curious and unpopular draft, and a slew of off-the-field trouble  including problems for receivers Chris Chambers and Kelly Campbell, as well as DT Fred Evans and linebacker Joey Porter. Campbell and Evans were released, but Chambers and Porter remain with the squad. With high expectations, the Dolphins finished the season 6-10 last year. With low expectations, there's hope they'll make a magic run to the AFC wild card. They'd be overcoming a lot in doing so.

Can't say I disagree at all, way too many issues on defense and offense, bad drafting, and an uproven head coach.

Bottom of the barrel is right on the money.

"Despite losing defensive leaders Nate Clements, Takeo Spikes and London Fletcher, as well as running back Willis McGahee in the off-season, expectations are big for the 2007 Bills."

That's pretty funny. They lose their best playmakers and expectations are now high.

The writer also forgot, the stud DT they got in exchange for Spikes and Holcomb also bolted for CHI after he got one look at the sorry state of affairs in Buffalo.

what have the bills done, c'mon really...4 afc championships or 4 embarassing, consecutive Super Bowl Failures....whatever, like you have room to mock us when we are down. you have been down for the past decade, and guess what? you'll prolly be there again next year, what else is new???

We got rid of overrated and washed up players and replaced them with talented young studs.

The dolphins defense is old, the offensive line might be the worst in the league, you have a bust running back, no receiving threat besides chambers, and a 37 year old statue at QB.

Sorry but it's not going to be pretty in south florida this year.

Losman is one of the best young QB's in the nfl and we are definitely in the mix for a wildcard this year where as the fish will likely be picking in the top 5 next April.
