1. QB Daunte Culpepper from Minnesota to Miami

What do Jay Fiedler, A.J. Feeley and Gus Frerotte have in common, besides last names that begin with "F"? They've been the Miami Dolphins' primary "solutions" at quarterback since Dan Marino retired after the 1999 season, and primary reasons this former offensive juggernaut of a team has ranked in the top ten in points scored only once in the new millennium. In March of 2006, the 'Fins rolled the dice and sent a second-round pick to Minnesota for the services of Daunte Culpepper after Drew Brees proved too expensive. Culpepper's 2005 was a catastrophe  he was named in the Vikings' "boat party" allegations, threw twice as many interceptions as touchdowns, lost his offensive coordinator, starting center, and some guy named Randy Moss, and tore three ligaments in his right knee. But his 2004 season and those before had him in increasingly rarefied air, and he's due for a good comeback if he can return healthy and adapt to Miami's offense.

The only appropriate response to that is... "Well duhh." What other off season move even comes close. Drew Brees? Give me a break. Can you say Chad Pennington? Steve McNair? He'll be injured before they get to their bye week. Edge? Great runner but no O-Line in Arizona. TO? He's just a joke, a very talented joke but a joke none the less. DC will be huge in Miami for many years.

very well said.:D

Culpepper has a lot to prove to me. I think his great career is a product of having Randy Moss on his team. When Randy Moss left he was not the same player as he was. He made bad decisions, he fumbled a million times, and he threw interceptions like crazy he was just a bad quaterback. Randy Moss built up his stats big time because all he had to do is throw the ball as far as he can and Randy Moss would jump up and grap it. That is why Culpepper has so many td's, passing yards and a high completion percentage it was a bread and butter play throw long to Moss. I do not think Culpepper is the answer.

Its not even close. All we gave up was a pick that turned out to be ryan cook. Something tells me we could be looking at football's equivalent of a Michael Jordan/Sam Bowie type heist.

C Pep would have won MVP in 04 if Manning hadnt been record breaking. And now he gets to play in that same offense again only under a different OC and without so much drama. Oh yeah, the C Pep jersey is on its way :dolphins: :dolphins: :dolphins: :dolphins:

:shakeno: really well why did kerry collins s**k last year. Culpepper does not need Moss and we dont need your negative input. Who cares if you dont like him. Your the only one. So who's the answer. What better QB could we get.

culpepper was fine without moss in '04. of course, this has been discussed to death already, no need to bring up stats again.

Get the facts straight - Culpepper to Moss did not improve Dauntes completion percentage, it was almost 10 pct. points lower than his avg. to other receivers. And long balls are great as a diversion but at 47% complete you can't you can't say Randy is a great route runner, a solid mismatch vs. a lot of DB's when it comes to jump balls but not a great route runner. I will give Randy props when it comes to balls thrown his way not getting intercepted, he does well but that too is a result of a lot of sideline and over the top throws (you can throw high or away from the DB) and still have a chance. Daunte is a great QB that got dragged down with poor team depth
at o-line, hence, less time to throw, more sacks allowed and increased chance of injury.:fire: :fire: :fire:

Ok Mr. Can you answer this for me then? How much did Moss contribute, stat wise or otherwise, to Culpepper's 2004 season, one of the finest ever?

Thanks ahead of time!

Not exactly true. You need to really look at his stats with and without Moss.
I don't think DC has anything to prove to you.
