Frank Kearse joins Dolphins practice squad

Yea thats whats up, he will definitely be in the mix next year with Soliai, Langford and Merling in their final years and Starks and Mcdaniel with just a year remaining. Time to start restocking on that DLine in case these players become too expensive. Odrick, Baker and Kearse is a good start.

Lol told you he was staying. Ppl don't believe **** now a days unless it's on twitter or something

I'm still unclear.. is the rule that if he (or Devlin) get poached off the PS, the club can counter that if they so desire by clearing roster space to add them to the "Nifty Fifty-three" ???

I'm with Vaark. I'd like some clarification on this if anyone knows the answer.

Other than that...good news he made it to the PS.

My understanding of the rule is yes, we can keep him if we put him on the 53....other teams can poach but must move him to their 53 for at least 3 weeks before moving him to PS, we can stop them by moving him to the 53 man roster....

Miami can block a guy from being poached on the PS by elevating that guy to the 53 man roster (because any team that goes after a PS guy would have to elevate that guy to their 53).

In this case, I just believe there was some misinformation. Carolina never claimed Kearse . . . he just went for a workout. They probably thought about it and then more guys got released, they have first waiver priorities and thought against it. So Miami moved him to the Practice Squad.

Great info jvw & all. I have another question. Not splitting hairs, but wonder what options a Cut Draftee has??

What if a player in Kearse's position decides he does Not want to be on a Particular Team's Practice Squad after being cut from the Roster?

Does the player have the freedom to pursue a position on another team's Roster? ... or Practice Squad? (Player would be under contract as a Draftee or Signed Free Agent ... but does getting Cut free the player to pursue his choice of teams? What freedom or choice??)
