Fred Beasly Cut????

didnt do anything to show his old form.really didnt do anything spectacular.he really didnt work hard like barnes did.

Barnes was already a MONSTER blocker probably better than Beasley in his prime and he has worked on his catching skills...looks like he did enough :) you should look at the upside that he beat out a former Pro-Bowler he must have done something right!

No doubt bro.Good point...

Beasley has only played in 10 games the last 2 years combined. And he lost his starting job last year for ineffective play after coming back from an injury. Beasley used to be good, circa 2001.

it even notes in the article he did enough to warrant the job, but barnes did more.

like someone said a few posts up, dont look at it as beasley being bad, more so barnes tearing it up!

It is hard to take you serious when you can't even spell the guys name right.

Darian Barnes simply outplayed Fred Beasley this off-season. I was really psyched when we first signed Beasley, but once camp started, it was apparent that the fullback position was going to be a real dogfight. Unfortunately, it seems Fred Beasley's best days are behind him while Barnes' best days are ahead of him. Plus Barnes is a beast on special teams (the TD saving tackle he made against Carolina and the hellacious hit he put on Darren Sproles, causing him to fumble during the Chargers game last year). He's always been a really good blocker, but the effort he put into becoming a good receiver is what put him over the top. I see him a lot like a young Tony Richardson, who wallowed in anonymity before become a Pro-Bowl fullback.
