Fred Gibson

I have this horrible feeling that if we let him go he will become a star somewhere else

Right now I think he has as much chance to make the team as any behind the three we already know are gonna make it. I never knew he was so huge until I saw him in person, he has some stellar ability and I hope we keep him over Campbell or Vick.

how did we get fred gibson

Pittsburgh's 4th round pick last year. Cut by the Steelers and Dolphins signed him to the practice team.

The guy is a steal. A very good WR. No way he doesn't make the team.
i'm really hoping fred makes the team. i believe he has the talent and hasn't even reached his potential yet. plus, culpepper loves those tall targets.:Dhe was a late bloomer in the steelers camp b4 he was let go and we got him.cowher was not happy when we got him.

He deserves to be our 4th receiver.

I like this kid, but I'd love for Campbell to heal too..don't think Campbell isn't special, that speed bites D's, and he has good hands, and was doing very well prior to the injury, while I think Gibson is during what it takes to make this team, I still think we should keep Campbell as a part of this recieving corps.

I hope we keep him. It would be good to have another big target with good hands. He was always a soild reciever at UGA and definately looks like he's starting to catch on to the pro game. You can bet all the scouts from the other teams that need WRs and were in attendance took notice of him. If we dump him, it will come back to haunt us.Remember he's SEC and Saban loves these guys and is familiar with alot of them. IMO he stays with us.

I like him as well. It's not his physical talent that has held him back, but the mental side of things. If the coaches can get inside his head and get him motivated and concentrated on his receiving skills he will be a great addition to our receiving corps.

I really like what I have been seeing to from him.He seem's pretty fearless in traffic. And I like how he move's after the catch.I will be rooting for him to make the team over Campbell.I'll take the hungry man every time.

id like to see our recieving core look like this

Chambers
Booker
Hagan
Gibson
Aromshodou sp??
Vick (WR and S/T)
Campbell (WR and S/T)

i just dont think welker has as much upside as the others, because that above is a great lookin young recieving core!!!!

We wont carry 7 WR's probably 5 or at most 6 and Devin is likely a PS player this year. So we are likely looking at Chambers, Booker, Hagan, Gibson, Campbell/Vick/Welker. I think Vick may be the odd man out, but that all depends on how Gibson continues to play. Right now he has to have the inside track on making the team. He had a good 1st game, and really showed that he will make the tough catches and fight for those extra yards this week.

Yea I mean if it was just solely based on WR, then yea right now he is the odd man out . . but because of his diversity, he still is the favorite over Gibson IMO . . however if Gibson continues his stellar play and Vick continues to be a non factor, I mean it may change. Like I have said before, if u think about it, Gibson will be the 5 guy, a person who wont see much burn anywayz, but if Vick is the 5 guy, he will also be our second option in the return game, and gives us the slash presence that Mularkey has been successful with in the past . . u have to factor that in when considering the position. With our running game (FB and RB) and TE's, u are not gonna see more than 4 WR's on the field, once in a blue moon we gonna have that 5th guy . . Vick gonna give u wayyy more options.

Chambers and Booker are the starters
Hagan and Welker switch up when we have our 3 WR sets.
Welker is a mainstay because of his ST importance and familairty with the system, plus he is dependable.
