Free Agency Breaking News- NFL - Breaking News Thread 2025 Offseason

The Arch Manning hype sure looks overblown.
I disagree. He was playing maybe the best D in the country in the first game of the season. Up until today he’d only attempted about 90 passes in college.

If you actually watched him play, and came away with anything but, “Damn he’s fantastic, green, but super talented”, you’re either biased or don’t know what you’re watching.

It’s obvious he has tools, but his accuracy was inconsistent all game long.

He sailed a couple and made a couple bad decisions trying to force throws, but he is going to be great. Remember, he’s only thrown about 90 passes in college before today and he was playing an elite defense in a very hard place to play.

Parson’s cap hits from 2025-2027, respectively, is $9m, $19m, and $26m… after that they have an out with a dead cap of $17m in 2028 and $9m in 2029.

I don’t think his pay will inhibit anything they want to do in the future.
You're right, I was apparently looking at the yearly average figure. However, there are some massive years at the end of those deals that will need to be dealt with at some point. It's a Superbowl or bust situation, and failing that, they are going to feel the same pain we've gone through this off-season.

Yeah, and how is that Tua’s fault?

Back to the topic, Love started half of one season and they extended him like he was Aaron Rodgers. Now, they think they have SB aspirations, but his contract and inconsistency are the issue — and he didn’t earn it IMO.

If you want to bring this to Tua, Tua has started since his rookie year and had to earn a contract that way (I get that some believe he didn’t); Love had was widely inconsistent for his first season as a starter, and GB rewarded him with a huge contract. It seemed silly to me — he should have gotten something closer to what Fields got with the Jets to show more growth.

Love got his contract because the GM didn’t want to looked like he botched the Love/Rodgers situation

You obviously don’t understand the market if you think he should have got what fields got coming off his 23 season. Love that is.

ESPN’s Adam Schefter reports Jets LG Alijah Vera-Tucker suffered a torn tricep in Tuesday’s practice.

Per Schefter, AVT is getting a second opinion to confirm that season-ending surgery is necessary. Barring a surprise, Vera-Tucker appears to be done for the year. He should be placed on injured reserve later this week. Vera-Tucker was set to be an integral part of a Jets offensive line built for pounding the rock. Now they will be down a starting offensive lineman and a standout from training camp just days before the start of the season. Vera-Tucker was set to play on his fifth-year option in 2025, meaning he will be an unrestricted free agent next offseason.
