Free Agency Shopping List (select up to five players)

It looks like this offseason will afford us the unique opportunity to have one fat purse to nab some talent in Free Agency. Mueller recently was quoted saying something to the effect that he couldn't spend all of it! The season is not yet half over and I am already looking forward to the offseason...is that sick or what?

In this poll you become the GM...please select no more than five of the players listed in the poll above. Lets find out what the consensus group will look like among fellow fin fans.

Please explain your choices in the thread below.

EDIT: Jay Glazer published this FA primer a few hours ago

Sorry about missing Bentley...

Why did someone vote for Brian Westbrook? No seriously, why?

He's one of the best pass catching flanker backs out there, though i dont know why we ANOTHER RB. I think the obvious need would be to go after a QB, but i wouldn't mind seeing a big play WR brought in....

What about T Jeff Backus also. Honestly....if there were 5 O-line on that list, I would've voted for all of them I think. And a safety.

Ok he's one of the best catching flanker backs out there, but it still doesn't explain why someone voted for him. Last time I checked we didn't need another RB and Ronnie Brown and Ricky can both catch the ball.

Ronnie Brown is better than Westbrook already. Bigger, faster, stronger and can actually run the ball.

Unfortunatly I think the top 2 guys getting voted for, Julian Peterson and Nate Clements, will in no way be let go by their teams. They will be resigned IMO.

If the Bills let Nate Clements walk they are stupid. Julian Peterson would be more likely to be let go (Hasn't been very healthy or productive lately).

I did. I see him playing flanker and slot, not so much RB. If Ronnie and Ricky can compliment each other, then so can Westbrook and Welker. For me, it is about creating matchup problems for opposing defenses.

Think about the multiplicity. With him in the slot, you can force a third CB on the field which will further open the running lanes for RXR. Most linebackers and safeties can not cover this guy.

i am absolutly sure, that Clements will not be an unrestricted FA after this season.

if he is not resigned he will be franchised.

Sign CB Nate Clements. Yes it costs a lot but stabilizes our CB situation for years to come and allows Poole/Daniels to grow into replacing Madison.

Sign DT Rocky Bernard to be part of the DT rotation. He's peaking right now and has 4.5 sacks at the DT position. Could be a great replacement for Zgonina.

That would be the 2 big signings. After that we need to resign Lance Shulters and find a suitable Strong Safety to replace Tebucky.

Then draft a QB and LT prospect.
