Kansas City is trying to bring him back, but with the tag going on Berry they will be strapped for cash. Since he had a lackluster season last year and is only 26, Miami needs to jump on him with a 1-2 year contract. The pitch is to make him get that monster contract in a year or two, by playing with Suh he will learn from the best in the NFL at his position. It fills a hole and could be a win-win for both parties.

There's 0% chance of this happening. He'll command 13-14+ million on the market annually. With Suh already here, we won't be paying another DT big money. It's a nice idea in theory and I agree with you, but it's guaranteed that it will not happen.

If we are going to spend big on a 2nd DT (and I would rather we didn't) Poe is the one I would want

Agree with the others. It'd be nice but Poe will get more than a 1-2 year deal. There are too many terrible teams out there with a ton of money who would give a guy like him 4/45 sort of deal or more. Let's just realize Phillips needs to step up at that role and hope Gase can get him where he needs to be.

I'd be okay with it depending on the price. Poe could get back to his sophomore year dominance playing alongside Suh. I'd prefer Brandon Williams though, and not just because I think he'll be cheaper.

We're spending QB money on Suh. When you do that you don't have the luxury of spending big on the rest of the DL. If you're going to do that you cut Suh and use his money on 2 DTs and a DE and the problem isn't the 2nd tackle, it's the horrible LBs we have. That's the area that needs to be addressed.

Oh and I guess the main reason not to sign him is he's not very good.

You mean if the D/C can get poe where he needs to be, correct? Gase doesn't coach the defense. If a motor is going to be fixed, if a technique needs adjustment, that will ALL be due to how MATT BURKE coaches him up.

Gase is NOT a defensive coach, never has been. It's not like Jimmie Johnson who was a defensive guru who spent his whole career coaching D and could help on that end immensely. Gase is a life long offensive coach who can help coach the offense and help develope O players.

The thing that scares me about players with motor issues is it CAN'T be taught. It's a personal flaw of the player and 98% of the time it bites the team in the back side and gouges the cap. I was part of the NFL boycott and didn't see any games this past year and wasn't up on his development. Was it a scheme change? Injury? Or, was his motor and commitment that bad after he started using that new, huge NFL bank account and is spending massive time with his new riches and toys and ho's instead of film sturdy, working out, perfecting his craft, etc... .

The cheifs are booting him very quick and that's a worry as Andy Reid is one of the top 3 head coaches in the NFL with a rep for being patient with troubled and immature players and an ability to reach them. For me, depending on the money, I would try to sign him as the kid does have major talent but all considered? I doubt he signs with what we would (hopefully) offer which other teams WILL beat.

Don't see Poe in Miami on a medium contract and if he is lazy, lining up incentives in his contract for more money won't help.

Clearly the Dolphins don't mind spending big on the D-line, they spent more there than any team in the league last year, it was even more expensive than what NYG are paying their guys this year, even with Harrison, OV's monster deal and JPP on the franchise tag.

The salary cap is going up every year so I have absolutely no problem splurging to have a dominant front, but you have to spend big on the right guys like the Giants did, not bums like Mario Williams and Earl Mitchell.

The Dolphins have to evaluate 2 areas 1. LB 2. CB, I feel as thought that the LB posistion is the most critical, because KiKo and company did not do a great job as a team to stop the run, that made the CB's and safeties play closer to the line of scrimmage, so CB is good now go and fix the LB posistion, and maybe find a stud DE
