According to the majority of threads and posts I've read on this board so far, every signing is an A+ and we have greatly improved at every position. Let's not forget this is exactly what happened last year and got burned in the worst way possible. For once, can we stay realistic and not over blow expectations going into the draft and new season. It really feels like this is the knee-jerk capital of the league some times...

New Flash: we weren't winners in free agency last season because we didn't do jack **** in the regular season. Here's another cold hard fact, this free agency period doesn't mean jack ****. So please chill out and let's look at these moves objectively.

1. Albert- I remember the majority of this board praised J. Ireland for not succumbing to the Chiefs or Alberts demands of 10+/year.
2. Delmas- Nobody wanted to touch this guy because of the fear of freak injury. Probably the reason we got him for 1 year. Remind you of D. Keller??
3. Mitchell- Let's see what happens on the field. If this deal even transpires...
4. Grimes- This new GM better have made this move... the entire Fin nation would have revolted...

I won't let this team get me all pumped up for the new season and then crush expectations have way through. **** you show me!

Different GM

I haven't seen anyone give us an A+ for signing anybody and with only a few signings so far not sure anyone is saying we improved every position.

The homers here says the same damn thing every year after the signings.

And every year the same bunch of homers are wrong...

Last year's Ireland was the greatest GM ever. This time around, Ireland's a bum and Hickey's signings are the best ever! :chuckle:

Im pretty sure he is referring to my thread lol Where I said why I liked each signing. Never did I say they will be upgrades next year

Remember the chiefs wanted a first and second round draft pick for Albert, so regardless of the contract this is a much better situation than the one Miami passed up last year.

Not sure if you were aware -- but Albert last year came with the same price tag, plus a SECOND ROUND PICK.

You gave one A+ but he makes it sound as if everyone is giddy and raving about every signing.

Exactly the right attitude to have. I was assured, assured, that the Dolphins were "doing it right" last year, that everything had changed and this time we are legit. I saw absolutely no difference in the way we spent our resources, so i repeatedly stated "show me first". Linebackers proved to be bust, offensive line imploded, receivers underwhelmed, coaching staff proved unable to adapt, and the season went to ****. The national scandal was just the cherry on top.

For what its worth, most of the people know they arent convincing anyone when they get caught up in this stuff. They know, intellectually, that building a team through free agency rarely works. How do i know this? I saw some of those same posters slamming the Bills and Jets when they spent big. Common mantra was "you can't buy a championship". Ive kept an eye out for that line the last 2 years but havent seen it pop back up, funny how that works.

We made some solid moves the last few days. Delmas is low risk/decent reward and the Earl Mitchell signing could be fantastic. A solid player who has potential but is younger and is half the cost of Soliai. The Albert signing was poor, but what can you do, Miami gonna Miami.
You have every right to demand to see the results and to not buy into the kool aid. I know im taking a similar approach. This thread, and peoples reactions in other threads, reminds me of last offseason when the majority of those who voted felt Ireland should be brought back for 2014....before any games were even played. They felt that offseason was so brilliantly successful that what happened in games didnt matter. The entire thread is comedic gold in hindsight, but Harry_Bagpipe said it best:

Ok. So let me get this straight. The op is asking if Ireland deserves another year irrespective of what we actually do during this season, simply because of our offseason moves? So even if we go 7-9 again, he's posing the question if we should retain Ireland just because of the acquisitions we made this off season? Seriously, is this a legit question? He's pretty much saying the offseason means more than the actual regular season. You know, when the games are actually played.

I appreciate that you took the time to actually give your opinion on the players we have signed so far. I don't mind if other people want to crap on other peoples excitement but I wish more people would expound on why.

Those who have been here for awhile no damn well these signing mean absolutely nothing in the grand scheme of things. There is still a stench in the "culture" that is the Miami Dolphins. That stench is the coach, Joe Philbin and current owner Stephen Ross. The owner we can do nothing but hope someone else buys the team and brings the glory back to Miami. Philbin however is a different story. We are all trying to see the silver lining in the fact that he was hired and retained after the embarrassment last season. There is absolutely no signing that should excite you about the "culture" changing as long as he is our coach. We are fooling ourselves for believing this guy is a winner...

His actions during the end of the season and after were inexcusable. I believe his reputation in Miami is tarnished from here on out. The owner is doing whatever he can to fill seats. I won't fall for this tactic again. We are going to be labeled the free agency winners and continue to be the laughing stock of the NFL.

No thanks! I'll reserve my enthusiasm and excitement for when we win some damn games.

My gut feeling tells me philbin is not and should have never been a hc but he is so yr 3 will tell us a lot. Btw I said Ross should of cleaned house but apparently philbin gives mr Ross foot massages. One more thing coyle is not a great dc but he is a great secondary coach. I hope he proves me wrong.

Lol exactly how was last years signings so awful? We were one win against the Jets in week 17 from the playoffs. The team was positioned to make the playoffs for the first time in years and they choked. I blame the coaching staff and lack of preparedness more than anything else. This team actually overcame a HUGE distraction and still should have been in the playoffs. Stop complaining about last season. The team made some good moves today plain and simple. Instead of trying to ruin everyone's excitement, enjoy the positive energy.
