free agents miami should go after

Yes! He is the darkhorse here. He is the speedster that could replace Booker, who would clear $3.1mil by being cut/traded.

We could pair Stalworth with Chambers who would then move to slot...and Hagan would play more the possession receiver spot. Plus, he wouldnt cost us a pick as Randy Moss or a 1st round rookie WR would.

Stalworth also wouldnt be as expensive. Im sure that with the $3.1mil we would clear up by cutting/trading Booker...and allowing Welker to sign elsewhere...we would have the cap room to sign Stalworth

Good choice

I guess if this does happen Miami will select CB Leon Hall

Wouldnt Stallworth, a proven #1 reciever cost more than Booker, a #2 reciever? But hey if we did that, we could move Stallworth to the #1 spot, Hagan to the #2 spot, and Chambers to the Slot where he thrived in 05

starks is a restricted agent and a right tackle. we have carey, we dont need another right tackle. if pittsburgh is smart they put at least a medium tender on him which means if pitt doesnt match then we give up a 3rd rounder and i dont want to give up a 3rd rounder.

If we go CB in the draft, I've read that Darelle Revis is a better shutdown corner. Leon Hall is slower. Plus Ive seen Revis return kicks so we could get a shutdown corner and return specialist with one draft pick

unfortunately, we prolly wont be able to get any of those guys as their are many teams with more money to spend but if we could get one, id go with asante samuel or nate clements.. 1st off we'd be taking amazing players away from our rivals but more importantly we would provide a huge upgrade to the fins biggest weakness on D, our secondary. I believe were 2 playmakers away on D from being the 07 version of the ravens, a shutdown CB and an OLB.. Hard to find a shutdown corner in the draft but we can always get a good LB in the draft..No to Briggs and yes to A. Thomas but hes gonna want too much

We need to base our FA targets on what the DRAFT has to offer...

The #9 pick isnt going to offer a starting LT, so we need to target Leonard Davis or sign Eric Steinbach and move Shelton back to LT.

Then, we need to make up our minds what is better:

Clements/Samuels or Hall/Revis

Ginn Jr/Jarrett or Stalworth/Moss

Thomas or (there are many LBs throughout draft)

zilch or (rookie NT)

...so...

I'd go OL and WR or CB via FA...and draft CB or WR at #9, OLB in the 2nd, and NT in the 3rd via draft...in that order :cooldude:

Booker would count as $3.1mil against the cap...Stalworth will want a decent contract...but what matters most is the signing bonus...the salary could be as low as minimum salary the first year...so he can count even lower than Booker's cap #...

Wayne can't spend a cent over the cap. And last I heard, the Phins don't have too much to spend.

You heard wrong...the Dolphins will have over $25 mil to spend once they cut Booker and a few others

Adaluis Thomas or Briggs - highly unlikely that we will get them. I dont see Chicago or Ravens giving them up that easily and even if they did decide to leave two of the top teams in the NFL, other teams have more cap space. Although Samuel would be an upgrade I think we will draft a CB with the number 1 pick and am happy with that.

If we are unable to pick up a WR like Stalworth or Moss...then we would sign Clements or Samuels and draft Jarrett or Ginn Jr at #9

If we are able to sign Stalworth or trade for Moss...then, yes, we would draft a DB at #9

The biggest problem with signing any of these guys is the fact that we are not great capwise and since the new collective bargining agreement there are alot of teams that will resign or go after these guys because they will have the money to do so.Miami needs to get younger quicker and cheaper for at least the next year.. then perhaps start bringing in some higher priced free agents the following year...its time to face the fact that this team is in for a big turnover player wise as it should be.Too many underachievers here for way to long... Chambers, Mc micheal, Jeno james..mare...say bye bye to these guys and maybe this team can get back to winning! If not then get ready for more band aids on a team dying of old age.

They should go after Adaluis Thomas who is a better fit for the 3-4 defense then Briggs and Asante Samuel but they do not need a running back because Ricky Williams is coming back next season.

i watched thomas specifically the whole game Vs indy...and this guy takes so many plays off it isnt even funny, its ridiculous really. so many times, adai would be pushing the pile or still driving his legs, and there is thomas standing and watching, or a few times the run would be going away from him, he would be coming free from the oposite side, and instead of trying to run him down, he kinda stood up tall and lightly jogged till the whistle blew. i dont want him
