NEW YORK — The Dolphins didn’t take any time off after the draft wrapped up this afternoon.
Brigham Young linebacker Kelly Pop*****, Hawaii receiver Davone Bess, Georgia Southern quarterback-turned-receiver Jayson Foster, Delaware tackle Mike Byrne, Boise State tackle Dan Gore and Montana kicker Dan Carpenter were among Miami’s first signings in the frenzied rookie free-agent signing period that began as soon as Mr. Irrelevant was chosen.

Had Not seen this posted before....Thanx....

Great news, the more bodies here, the more competition. I like Kelly Pop***** he is gonna open some eyes.

(also if this guy becomes a team member after the cut downs the word filter will have to be changed......not fair to the guy to "******" his name :sidelol:)

More of the Article:
Pop*****, who is 6-foot-2 and 240 pounds, led BYU with 118 tackles and had 7 1/2 tackles for loss. His brother is Brady Pop*****, an outside backer with the Packers.
“I think the Dolphins are lucky to get someone like Kelly,” Dolphins quarterback and BYU alum John Beck said. “I know they will be very happy with his character, work ethic, and the fact that he comes from a winning tradition at BYU.”
Pop***** chose the Dolphins over the Seahawks.
“It was a tough decision,” Pop***** said. “They both had identical offers and I was really leaning towards Seattle, but at the last second, and I mean literally at the last second, I decided to sign with Miami. If was a really tough decision and I really liked Seattle. Ultimately, I think Miami is the better fit.”
Bess was Colt Brennan’s favorite target, grabbing a sensational 108 passes for 1,266 yards and 12 touchdowns. He finished his college career with 41 TDs.
NFLDraftScout.com said Bess, who is 5-foot-10, projects as an NFL slot receiver and was considered by some to be the best prospect, including Brennan, to come out of Hawaii this year.
Foster played QB at Georgia Southern, but at 5-foot-9 (or maybe even two inches shorter than that, depending on the source), he doesn’t fit the Parcells model.
There was pre-draft talk about teams considering Foster a defensive back prospect, but the Savannah Morning News indicates Foster will be converted into a receiver.
Byrne was a Division I-AA All-American, blocking for quarterback Joe Flacco, taken 18th overall by the Ravens. The News Journal in Delaware quoted Byrne’s agent as saying the Dolphins might want to give Byrne a look at center.
Gore told the Idaho Statesman he had several options, but “Miami had the best opportunity and best offer.”

I like. Could be some finds there there, particularly Bess and Pop*****.

Delaware tackle Mike Byrne.

I went to a Delaware board and alot of people were raving about this guy. And how he paved the way for their great rushing attack and being responsible for keeping Flacco on his feet.

They say Byrne was the leader of their offense.

Is anyone able to explain the *******? I feel stupid for asking but won't sleep otherwise.

It's a word filter replacement. The kid's last name is P O P P I N G A. if you try to type that all together as one word the last 5 letters--which is a phalic slang word--will be word filtered into a bunch of asteriks.

if u think we went crazy look at how many people jacksonville and freakin minnesota signed after the draft they had like more then ten a piece its crazy

Where are the CBs?

I understand the emphasis on the lines during the draft. Good CBs that can start right away are rare and go early. But I thought we would load up on some CB and WR prospects in FA, and to this point (at those two positions) we signed one WR. Thought we'd bring in some guys who could cover but were a step slow, or were fast as heck but lacked ball awareness, etc. that we could coach up and see what develops. Umm... where are they? :)
