We all seem to agree that our #1 pick should be a DB like Hargraves, a DE like Lawson or a LB like Jack. Question is how we use FA to set up the draft.

At CB, Joseph has said he would like to keep Grimes. There are 3-4 VG options in FA and I can easily see us getting one. Do you keep Grimes and draft a CB? Do you replace Grimes and draft a CB? Do you keep Grimes whit a FA Nd draft a different position?

At DE. we do not know if Wake will be healthy or if we can keep OV. Do you keep Wake and draft a DE? Do you keep OV and draft a DE? Do you keep Wake and OV and draft a different position?

At LB, we have a huge need with not much out there in FA. Do you add short term band aids in FA? Do you reach for a LB with our #1 pick?

I left out the OL because I cannot see it coming into play with our top pick.

LB will be the most difficult to address through FA.
Every great defense has had impact players at LB. The phins are starving for one. Top draft pick should be Jack or Smith.
FO has to find a way to keep OV and reduce the need for DE in the draft.
The nucleus of all the elite teams is made up of players they have drafted and developed.

I have to sign one of the young CB'c in FA. I wanted to draft Hargraves as well but, if T-bomb agrees with Joseph in keeping Grimes, I have to reconsider. No matter what, I still add a FA CB.

I want to keep OV and Wake with a restructure. If not I have to look at keeping Grimes with a FA, moving him ad Maybe signing two FA, adding a different DE or drafting Lawson.

I cannot see taking a LB at #1, would be a reach. Second round is better.

I tend to agree with you here. I certainly don't want to see Misi starting in the middle next year. Much like receiver last year, the whole unit could use an overhaul. There is a little concern on my part with injuries to Smith and Jack. I know players come back from these types of injuries and prior to their injuries both were considered top 10 (maybe even top 5) picks.
