Two vet quarterbacks who didn't hit their stride till late in their career. I'm not saying Gus, like Rich, will be winning league MVP's and heading to the Pro Bowl, but he might be a guy who in "our system" could get a second lease on his career and be part of a winner and have his best days late in his career.

He deserves another year and Im not so sure we can't be a contender with him at the helm. Not saying super bowl or anything like that but playoffs and winning some playoff games is realistic.

Don't kid yourself, Gannon in his first year on a poor team gave an 86 rating.

gus played outstanding today.i hope he stays to groom our rook QB

I agree with you.. Gus had a nice year for us, I would not be mad if he was the starter next season

I also would be ok with Gus for another year, but hopefully we can also draft a QB or acquire one through FA that will be our QB of the future. I just hope Nick doesn't hit the panic button like Wanny/Speilman did when they had to get Feeley from the Eagles for a 2nd rounder.

You made me fry my computer when I spat my drink all over it laughing at that post. Im suing you for compensation. He has no comparison to Gannon

I heard on the radio discussion that if Gus played a certain number of games this year that his salary next year would be near $6million. If it is indeed the case, I expect he may not be here for cap reasons. But if it turns out not to be accurate, then I hope they keep him while we groom a young stud QB - if one can be found and acquired.

Gus isn't stupid, he knows this is probably the only team in the NFL where he can start another season, and he knows he's not going to get big money anywhere else. He'll restructure if we ask him to.

Listen to me! Frerotte=DILFER and LIKE DILFER HE WILL LEAD US TO A SUPERBOWL NEXT SEASON.

One can always dream :D

I compared their stats, and Dilfer is better in ever category. His QB rating is about 10 points higher, comp. % is way higher than Gus. His yards per attempt are also better even in a non-vertical offence. We will go nowhere with Frerotte.

I agree 100%. Gus is not the future of this team, but he can be a solid starter for us next year while we groom the future QB. Now that everybody is on the same page I can see Gus leading this team to an 11 win season.

OK Gus = Brad Johnson = Superbowl....he is better than Doug Williams too. :)
