Any word on if his thumb will allow him to play this weekend? I read that his practice friday will determine whether or not he will play, any way i kinda hope sage gets the nod, but thought gus played pretty well last week.
 
It would be kind of amazing if Frerotte at his age could stand up and play a full 16 games this year, But the O-line is doing a very good job at protecting him, and he just may do it........especially if Saban wants him to!!!
 
You gotta love Sabans "if you put a gun to my head" statement.
 
man, Sage must really suck! We know Gus does and for Sage to not even be given a shot when Gus is not 100% Wow! Oh well, I for one hope whoever starts plays well and helps to win a game.

If he's that bad, why the heck have we had him riding the pine here for soooo long??

I refuse to believe that Sage is really that bad, especially considering how well he usually does in preseason, and YES it's just preseason and he was playing against 2nd or 3rd stringers, but HE STILL PLAYED WELL. How can he prove that he can or cannot do the same thing against NFL starting defenses if he never gets the opportunity???? I still think Saban knows what the hell he is doing however and if Gus is the guy then so be it. I just cannot shake the feeling though that Sage will get a shot elsewhere down the raod and will light it up.
