CONFIRMED CORRECT Fresh Rumor Phins Trading An All Pro - Ramsey

As much as Tyreek is a tool, I’m not trading him unless we are going for total rebuild. Julian Hill, on the other hand, I’d trade for a 12th round pick…in the CFL.

So, zero idea if this is happening or not. However, the report comes from a leaker of decent acclaim. Slick Rick had the scoop on the Ramsey contract extension. He has an in with Athletes First. Some notable Athletes First clients include Deshaun Watson, Aaron Rodgers, Jalen Ramsey, and Dak Prescott. The agency also represents other NFL players like Derek Stingley Jr., Brandon Aiyuk, and Christian Wilkins, among others.

So, IF this is accurate it's Ramsey or Tyreek. With Ramsey we would save $21 million. I hate that idea though as he was so key to our defense and we have a hole at CB2. Ramsey got a lot of the sacks we recorded on top of being a lock down corner. Weaver was able to use Ramsey's skills quite well.

We've been through the Tyreek thing.

Discuss here and we'll see if it happens.

where did you see that we'd save 21mill by trading Ramsey? I just looked and if we were to trade him before June the dead money would be 25mill and the cap "savings would be minus 8.5mill. If we trade him post June the dead money is 6.6mill and the savings are 9.9mill but of course a big dead money hit in 2026. We don’t need the cap space right now either so unless we're getting a 1st round pick for him then I highly doubt we'd make this trade

If the rumblings are true that Hill and Ramsey were the players showing up late to practice, I'd look to trade them both.

Load up with young talent, draft leaders, and start moving this team in the right direction.

Keep seeing this posted but have yet to see this from a credible source. Hill I can see but Ramsey has always seemed like a pretty good leader and hard worker.

Overthecap shows negative 8.5 while spottrac says negative 12.5 but yeah in any event the negative cap implications and not having a single starting corner would make anything less than getting a 1st not worth it. At his age I find that probably highly unlikely.

Exactly. Either way we're not getting 21mill of cap space by trading him. I have no idea where that number came from and it'd leave us pretty much with a couple of backups as our starting corners while we're already starting a couple of backups at safety

Right. We don't know for sure.

Even with Hill, he goes all out on the field. I don't think there's a fan who would question his effort there. He's even a willing blocker, but not great in that regard.

Right. Personally, I'm looking forward to a rebuild because this one resulted in a pretender instead of a contender, and any imagined success was from an offense filled with all flash and no substance. If that success had been real, they would have at least won the division and a playoff game or two.

Enough has been said about Hill already, so what about Ramsey? When he came to Miami, I thought that he was supposed to be a star, but he didn't seem to make many big plays. Where are the interceptions? Howard was good at that until he became injury-prone and lost it, and I assumed that Ramsey was going to replace him. He may be competent, but I guess I was expecting more from him, although part of that is due to QBs not throwing in his direction.

Still, I want the defense to be one of the top teams when it comes to turnovers. While they weren't great, the defense under Flores was more exciting, more physical, and created more turnovers than any defense under McDaniel. IMO, this is why a housecleaning and rebuild is necessary; Miami needs to get younger, build through the draft, and become a tough, physical team.
I feel like Flores's defense is similar to what we've seen with McDaniel's offense so far. Good only against weak competition. His defenses feast on offenses that can't handle pressure, but are exposed against offenses who can handle the pressure. We saw it often here and it seems to still happen to him in Minnesota. I don't know what to think of our current defense, but I think the Flores style is just too aggressive.

In any event of a trade I hope you are standing by on moderator duty if Ramsey is traded. If that’s the case it almost like 100% confirms contrary to popular belief that McDaniel and Grier are not on the hot seat and it’s likely a 2 year plan with them being here atleast until after 2026 no matter what happens.

This place will nearly explode.

That's a large discrepancy between the two generally trustworthy sites.

Not that the difference matters in this discussion, but stuff like that drives me crazy when looking into contract cap implications.

Only for Tet. He's a top 5 player in the draft IMO.
Fair enough.

I still revert to my fallback position that unless both lines are addressed, the skills are irrelevant in the long run.

Flash and shiny objects are popular, but no beef = weaknesses that are nearly impossible to overcome.
