So, zero idea if this is happening or not. However, the report comes from a leaker of decent acclaim. Slick Rick had the scoop on the Ramsey contract extension. He has an in with Athletes First. Some notable Athletes First clients include Deshaun Watson, Aaron Rodgers, Jalen Ramsey, and Dak Prescott. The agency also represents other NFL players like Derek Stingley Jr., Brandon Aiyuk, and Christian Wilkins, among others.

So, IF this is accurate it's Ramsey or Tyreek. With Ramsey we would save $21 million. I hate that idea though as he was so key to our defense and we have a hole at CB2. Ramsey got a lot of the sacks we recorded on top of being a lock down corner. Weaver was able to use Ramsey's skills quite well.

We've been through the Tyreek thing.

Discuss here and we'll see if it happens.

Yeah been posted in some tyreek threads. He’s got a solid track record but misses a lot too.

Not sure how accurate this is but guy was tracking him has him at 67%

Few other wrong ones I found with about 2 minutes of scrolling on his page

Also Ramsey would not be a savings. We’d actually lose 12 million in cap space, leaving us around the 6/7 mark in space for this year. We would save 25 million next year though. From the negative cap implications as well as having 0 starting corners, Ramsey doesn’t make much sense.

If we want to do a reset then trading them both makes sense.

They are both in decline. Ramsey might only be here for 2 more years and Hill for 1 more year.

It depends on what we can get in return.

If the price is right I would trade both of them.

Ideally Will Johnson will be available at 13 and we can make him the foundational piece of our secondary for the future.

Its a deep DT class so we can still address that position with a high quality player at 48.

To me the convo (not yours but just in general) about this being a reload/reset year is preposterous with a 4th year HC not having won a playoff game and Grier being on the hot seat. Ross has a ****ton of money. He wants us playing deep into the winter and winning games. He's too old to give a farthing of a fack how much cap we've saved and responsible we've been. He wants us winning Lombardi's before he's drooling on himself.

Ross hasn't gone through all of this to want to suddenly prioritize cap management this late in his time as owner. Meanwhile, why would the two guys who will be sh!tcanned if this team doesn't make and win a playoff game this year be the guys setting it up for the next guy? It makes zero sense. This is not an accounting firm. It's an NFL team and they are graded by how many wins they get and powering through adversity.

I would be surprised if it was Ramsey. We would have no starting CB's returning and that would leave us with Cam Smith and Storm Duck starting.

I hope its Tyreek though. We need to move on from him, his antics, and that contract...

How many teams have the cap space AND think one All-Pro would make much difference? Can't think there are many. That said, maybe a 'costly' vet traded for a not-as-costly and a draft pick.

Let me preface this by saying sports discussions by their very nature are often dismissive of the context of reality, and part of what makes them fun and interesting.

On the other hand, I see many saying we should do this or that without even acknowledging the facts as they currently exist, which your OP outlines perfectly. In effect, they are advocating for things that often don't make sense in context of the actual situation.

It isn't a teardown until it is. I guess it's possible Ross has given Grier marching orders to that effect, but I really don't believe that to be the case. Even if it were, nobody inside would admit it because that would be an anchor around the neck of the marketing department.

Balt/Bills/chiefs/commanders all come to mind for Hill.

Lamar/Henry/Hill would be the scariest offense in nfl history.

Also any team can afford the cap hit. It’s only 10 million for tyreek, his cap hit is only bad for us but we pay the remaining guaranteed money and it’s significantly cheaper for his new team.

Ramsey is a 1.2 million hit for his new team in year one as we already paid his signing/option/restructure and roster bonus which is like all of his cap hit this year, that may make him slightly more valuable.

Maybe too maddenesque but tyreek and Ramsey for their 1st would be crazy if the ravens wanted to go all in for the year. They’d have to restructure a contract to free up like 5 million to sign draft picks but they’d only pay the two about 12 million combined.

Amazing if they are trading Hill. Hopefully for 2025 picks to help reload the lines, and if they are trading Hill, possibly adding a WR later in the draft.

I’d even be thrilled with a 2nd that then netted Emeka Egbuka as a replacement. An ASB clone who’s cheaper, a leader, and drama free

I'm not too sure about Will Johnson at 13 anymore it looks like he'll go earlier, but I hope I'm wrong

A lot of the mocks have Johnson going to the Saints. However, it just came out that Carr has a significant injury. So maybe they take Sanders at 9. Anyways, I had us glued to Barron at 13 going back weeks. Seemed to me that they were targeting a CB at 13 that they were sure would be there and Johnson is real iffy as to if he would be gone by our pick.
