Looks like Jeff Ireland may have let the cat out of the bag, or just a puff of smoke. He stated that the first pick he hopes is going to be "pillar of (y)our defense for long time." What do you think?

The Dolphins are in negotiations with Long. Ireland is trying to put a twist into the draft.

I could see in the end, after Jake Long is selected, Ireland will say...."He is the pillar of our defense by making the DE's that much better in practice."

this was talked about here with about 200 posts and about 1000 views and is still the same thing.....everyone was making too much out of it....Tuna's not gonna draft a player without a contract in place.

I still think they make public the first rounds of contract talks so they can go to the person they really want and say here's what we'll do. Take it or leave it. How bad do you want to be the #1 pick?

My guess Chris Long. His name have never even come up. If he balks, we take one of the people who we have an agreement with.
