The Dolphins have given indications to No. 3 QB Cleo Lemon that they would like to keep him around this offseason, though he's not a serious contender for the backup job. But free agent Sage Rosenfels has taken a hint and will look elsewhere.

If Sage goes, that only leaves Lemon and Gus, things are falling in line. However we are still a month away from FA. We shall see.

If Sage isn't given a shot at number one then he should be allowed to look somewhere else. He should be able to start for someone.

I can see it now. Sage signs with Buffalo or the Jets, comes in when their starter gets hurt, then lights us up. Always happens, we let a guy go and he comes back to haunt us at some point.

I think he signed a 1 year deal last year, so he should be a FA?

I've always thought Sage was a pretty good qb. He's never really been given a chance to gameplan and play with the first team on a constistant basis. He is more accurate than gus and with some serious playing time his desicion making will probably improve.

I think we could win with sage just as well (maybe better) than we can win with gus, but I'm still praying for a miracle this offseason to find a really good qb but I don't see it happening...:(

Sage is an unrestricted FA, he is allowed come March 3 to move or sign with anyone he wants. All the article is saying is that the Fins have indicated to Sage, that he should persue other options rather than being re-signed with us.

Lemon is under contract till the end of the 2006 season, so he's not going anywhere unless the Fins cut him at some point in time after March 3.

The article, IMO, just states the obvious...

Wow... that's weird considering that we just traded that 6th round pick to get rid of Feeley. I'd have thought they would drop Lemon the "throw in player" and kept Sage who at least has some starting experience. Funny...

Really? I don't remember Fiedler, Lucas, Griese, Huard, etc. "lighting us up"

Actually, Lucas lit us up before we got him. In '99 with the Jets, he threw about 3 or 4 4th quarter TD passes against us in 2 games. Completely unacceptable. The game at Mia that year, he had 2 ~50yd TD passes in the 4th quarter. Pathetic.
