Thought you fin guys would like to read this. I am proud of the job Chad did for you guys in delivering perhaps the biggest fu to the New York Jets in recent football history last year...and he was too classy to say it.
Watching he and Manning square off was the ultimate thinking football fan's matchup.

PENNINGTON: I never have counted Chad Pennington out.
Never ever.
His mental toughness was too steely. His spirit too indomitable. His heart too competitive.
That’s why this is difficult to write.
It appears likely that Pennington’s NFL career is over.
Although the former Marshall star has won the NFL Comeback Player of the Award twice (2006 and 2008), a third comeback seems out of the question.
The injuries Pennington suffered to his throwing shoulder Sunday are that serious.
According to knowledgeable sources, the Miami Dolphins’ standout has a separated right shoulder, ruptured capsule and torn labrum.
It’s difficult to imagine how one shoulder could be more injured. That’s why this might be too much for even Pennington to overcome.
It would be different if Chad hadn’t traveled this surgery and rehabilitation road before.
But he has.
Twice.
On Feb. 4, 2005, noted orthopedic surgeon James Andrews repaired a substantial tear in Pennington’s right rotator cuff and removed a bone spur in the same shoulder.
Then, on Oct. 6 of the same year, Pennington underwent additional surgery on his right rotator cuff.
Did that stop Chad?
Just the opposite.
Undeterred, Pennington shocked all the naysayers, all the experts by winning his first Comeback Player of the Year award.
The “Legend of Chad” added another chapter last season when he was released by the New York Jets, but then received a new lease on his career from the Miami Dolphins.
Pennington again wowed the NFL, winning his second comeback award.
But this time?
Well, Pennington is scheduled to undergo surgery Friday in Birmingham, Ala., with the famed Andrews again performing the operation.
Chad says he’s going to let Mother Nature work her magic before he makes any decision.
I understand his hesitation.
But I think I know what Pennington’s decision will be.
I’m afraid we’ve seen the last of Chad in a football uniform.
