Its really a stretch cause there was more disparity that year than there is and they are in the weaker conference...but they did build their lines the way we are so that is positive.

Parcells teams usually take a year or 2 to show huge progress. I like the enthusiasm, but we still have a lot to go before we take over the division.

Parcells COACHED teams, this is a new situation as he is not coaching these players. He was a GREAT HC but his track record as a Gm is a bit spotty,
and Carolina was 7-9 in 2002 then won 11 in '03 which was the year they went to the Super Bowl.

The Saints would be a better example. In 05 they were 3-13. The next season they went 10-6 and in the playoffs.
But that dont happen to often and would'nt have high expectations of that happening

There definitely are better examples such as SL from '98 to '99(but they were a sleeping giant) or NE from '00 to '01(who knew what they had in Brady?). Teams get good fast and bad fast in today's NFL. If things break right it's not impossible to be a playoff contender.
Yeah and the main reason for that was they nabbed a franchise QB in free agency that offseason.
The team with the best chance for worst to first is St Louis, because they are set at QB and have a star RB, but had alot of injuries along the lines last year.
Until we get the final answer at the QB position we can forget about a super bowl run.

I think what's gonna happen is that the Dolphins will be in most games. It really all comes down to the trenches.
The most likely thing that will happen is that a lot of good things are in store for this franchise this season in terms of both individual player and team development,. Parcels has us on a trajectory. His work thus far has the potential to help us stop the bleeding. One of our 3 QB's will impress, and maybe even 2 will show some flashes for optimism in the future.
Parcels knows how to downplay a teams success. If we are succeeding he will credit the players, but he will also critique them in public about what they can do better.
Bizarre stuff would have to happen for this team to even make the playoffs.
Its not likely, but its likelyhood is still better than many other bad teams in recent and distant memory in the NFL.
Parcels does have us going in a positive direction and it will take some time for us to get to the proper levels before we arrive.
Look for 6 and 10 to 8 and 8 Next year at this time we will be the buzz of the NFL. We will have a healthy cap, a very young team and a year under our belt with this regime.

It will be great fun to watch this young group of upstarts rip Brady's head off. I think there has been a change in the cosmic energy and it is now time for us all to enjoy the fall of the Pats. Are we next?
