I'm sure most of you have read the story on the front page about Drew Brees meeting with Dolphins officials tonight.

If you look towards the end of it he says he plans on playing somewhere for a long time and winning some championships there.

Ok, so heres what I'm getting at. The Saints have no idea where they will be in the near future. They could be anywhere from L.A. to San Antonio. Drew does not want to move his family around he wants to keep himself stationed for several years. The other point, which is the key issue, Drew wants championships. Even with Brees, the Saints are about 5 years from even having a respectable roster. If they do get Brees, the will over spend on him and not have much money to fill their other holes, which they have a lot of.

If Drew is telling the truth and he wants championships over money, then he is coming here. He is just trying to milk a few more dollars out of Nick and the Dolphins, but I have to believe the genious that is Mr. Saban is seeing right through him. There is no doubt in my mind we get Drew for a good price.

whut up aqua for ever you are like 45 mins aways from me. good to see another Dolphin fan around here!!!

im hoping to see Brees in aqua and orange by tomorrow night. kind of glad i dont have to stay up checking every 5 mins to see if Brees has been signed.

It still makes you wnder why he gave that comment to NO about helping rebuild. And he said he gave no weight to the fact that NO, the city, looks like crap still, although it is getting repaird slowly but surely.

I am hoping like crazy that he thinks like you eluded to, and that is MIAMI is the team where he will win championships now and be the key field general for years to come::::caveat - as long as he can remain healthy::::

At this point we are no closer to a championship then the Saints. I love this team as much as anyone, but I don't think we should get the attitude we are gonna win a SB. It would be nice and Saban sure looks like a guy that can get us there, but we have a long ways to go too. We have the history, no luxury tax and a South Florida lifestyle ,but thats it. Lets try to keep our heads here. I don't think it's enough to convince someone we are 3 million dollars better. If he has a nutral stance on the two teams the money will be the deal breaker or maker depending on your team.

I dont agree with that at all, we are way ahead of where the saints are

As John Clayton said we are one QB away from greatness and the restoration of a once great franchise. Brees does not want to goto to a team where he will have rely on himself more then other to help win games. NO is alot farther off form a Playoff berth let alone a SB chance. Brees wants to go to a place where he has a chance to go back into the playoffs and win a

Great post with stupendous outlook on the whole situation but you forgot one thing... the Saints can suck it. (To put it lightly). I'm just playing though you make a good argument, but I simply think Drew is in it for the money and he will go to N.O. hopefully I'm wrong and he can lead our squad for the years to come.

We ended the season on a 6 game winning streak and are about to add some huge free agents. We have a top notch coach and staff. The Saints have a city in ruins, don't know where there home will be for the future, won 4 games last year, and just got a new coach. I think we are at least a step closer to a championship them them.

Yeah, I love seeing Dolphin fans in person but it never happens around here. Did you make it to the game in Seattle in 2004? I was there, we should have one that game. God d*** A.J Feely.:tantrum:

If Brees chooses to play in New Orleans, then so be it.....

Culpepper is equally sufficient. Let's not forget that...

PHINZ RULE!!!
