Hey, Im a long time reader first time poster. N e ways i was just wondering how the future of Miami's backfeild might turn out. I dotn know if Saban was aware of Ricky's return when he drafted Ronnie Brown. This makes me feel that we wasted our draft pick. Not sayin that Ronnie is a bad player, he is an awesome player and im proud to own a jersey of him. But in the big picture I think if Ricky returns Ronnie will be overlooked because of Ricky's current situation. What do yall think?

I doubt that he'll be overlooked...RW might command more headlines and media attention, but he'll also miss the first 4 games, which means that Brown will be toting the ball for us...

No, Brown won't be overlooked...

A waste?? C'mon people...think!

First of all there is no guarantee Brown can make it in the NFL.

Next is injuries are a major factor in today's NFL. You have two quality backs to make sure we can keep going if one goes down.

Finally, we can share the load so neither gets wiped out.

If Ricky goes AWOL, then we are no worse off.

It is all good. Nothing to loose and everything to gain.

Also I believe Saban had some idea of Ricky coming. When he drafted Ronnie he said that the door was open to Ricky returning, so I'm sure Saban thought it was coming.

i'll say it like this...Ricky will have to play this one year so he could show ther NFL that he is still worthy of being a feature back...i hope he comes in and gains 1200 because after that he will be traded at top dollar...Ronnie is the future of this team....bar none..

I think we'll end up trading ricky in the future...For a QB maybe...who knows

Ridiculous all you people that think Ricky will be the same player he was his first year here. The guy has lost his passion for the game. When you lose your edge you are all done. This game is too physical to not have that fire in you. IMO he won't make it out of camp assuming he even shows up. We needed to move past this headache and we did with Brown. We now have a franchise potential back and a good rotation with Gordon and Morris and possibly KJ Harris. Ricky gives the media something to write about but he will not be a legit factor on the field. Stick a fork in him - he's done! If it wasn't for his lack on funds he wouldn't even be on the east coast right now. There is a much better bet he files for bankruptcy than show up at camp.

I agree with that Ricky will more than likely not be as explosive as he was in previous years but I think in teh end Ricky may get the job in mid-season. Even though i fully respect Ronnie and I know he will give us Phin Fans somethign to cheer about for years to come. Again this all depends on how traning camp turns out...

Ricky may or may not be the same player, but I know you don't just lose talent like he has/had overnight. Do I think he'll need some time to regain that which he once had, sure, but a Ronnie was not a wasted pick for the simple reason that Ricky will be trade bait after this season, and if he's not and i'm eating crow, then we have an insurance policy in having Brown, should Ricky ever go AWOL again.... that's what killed us last year, not having a somewhat decent backup to come in and make up for Ricky's abscense.. Ronnie brings that insurance, and, if we get one year out of Ricky, that gives Ronnie a year to get used to the NFL game.. Although, I don't think he'll need it..

dude were not gettin Peterson in the 2007 draft we have ronnie In 2007 we will get marrcus vick

I know im just an OU/Dolphin fan (I know wierd combo) I just like Peterson alot and I thought it would be kool. But yea im glad we got Ronnie he is prob a better Rb all aorund than Peterson. Ronnie can catch, leave u in the dust, block, and move. These r the things Peterson needs to work on for OU to actually win a championchip.

I think the depth is good. I don't pay much attention to Ricky to be honest, I am more interested in Brown, Gordon and Harris. Ricky is just a wildcard, we don't know what we are going to get with him. You cannot build your roster around a wildcard. Anyway if you look at his career, he has had only one Pro Bowl year.

i think you dont know what your talking about, and your sig is not a smart sig to have up on this site, first of all we have a rb and second of all we wont be bad this year and have the # 1 pic and ronnie is important and not a waste becuase smoke head williams is not a sure thing
