Bounced around from the Bears to the Bucs for a 6th rounder.

Was a first round draft pick in 2011. Suffered a terrible knee injury with multiple surgeries his second career game which many believe was a result of the Saint bounty-scandal.

Started at Guard and Right Tackle for the Bears. Only 25 years old.

Not sure why he hasn't worked out. Might be worth a look?

It's a big knock on Carimi when the coach that drafted him, cut him before OTAs even begin

Just read the article on PFT and immediately hoped we would claim him. With the holes we have on the Oline, can't help hurt to give him a look. The article stated that maybe Lovie didn't want him because he was part of the Oline troubles that got him canned in Chicago. He is 25 years old and clearly had potential being a 1st round pick. Worth a shot IMO.

Danny Watkins was a first round pick too, but he could barely crack the game day lineup last season.

not saying if he is bad but he appears to me as a backup at this stage in his career and the phins already have enough backups. They need solid starters.

we need a catch-all sticky where people can discuss garbage that has been cut by other teams

We don't have much in the way of starters or backups on the OL. I'd grab Carimi and see what happens, can't hurt.

I see this is your first off season on here so let me help you out. See in the Ireland/Parcells era every Coeboys scrub that got gut generated a we should take a look or a we should sign player X thread. Now we have a former Buc in the FO so stay tuned for the we should sign this guy thread every time Tampa flushes their toilet.

When I saw he was cut a couple of hours ago, I immediately thought about the Dolphins taking a look at him. I mentioned it on Twitter. He is probably not a starter, but could be a cheap backup that has some talent. Maybe he could even become veteran competition for one of the guard spots against a possible rookie.

Hickey was part of bringing him to Tampa Bay, so there might be some interest. It is also no surprise that Lovie Smith cut him, because the offensive line was a big reason he got fired from Chicago.

Personally, I would let him pass through waivers, wouldn't want to pay him $1.3 million this season. Try to get him cheap on the free agent market.

How is it that some of these guys look so good in college to get them drafted early and then get discarded in a year or two? Is the failure in their ability to improve at the next level or is it just poor drafting in the beginning, to not recognize the significant flaws that are there.
