Gale Sayers

My father worshipped the Bears and I grew up watching a lot of old tapes of Sayers and Payton. What I like about both of those guys is how unique their styles are. It's like when they played, they were way before their time. When you think old school football, you think old school hard-nosed backs, especially in Chicago, but those guys were elusive, evasive, and smart on a whole new level. Sayers speed was unbelievable too. He used to gas right by guys like it wasn't anything.

Oh please...Cedric Benson doesn't even measure up to Ricky Williams, let alone Sayers or Payton.

I think Gale Sayers was in the Top 5 best ever RB's. He might have been the best ever had he not had injuries which ruined his knees. My dad watched him play and told me about him and Jim Brown. Wish I would have been able to see them play.

Benson is going to be a GOOD running back, but Sayers and Payton were GREAT running backs.

HoF only playing 6 seasons! The first three were the only seasons his knees actually worked. Gale Sayers is a victim of his era. Had he of played today, there's no telling how successful he could have been. Sayers is the only guy I've ever seen who made cuts like he had eyes in the back of his head before.
