I said nearly the same thing. They probably could have gotten more for him anyways. It seemed likethe right choice to me because heres how it is:
Option A: keep an old and broken QB who is nearing the end of his career (however prestigious it may be) that is making a truckload of cash
or
Option B: keep the new kid, the guy that still has a chip on his shoulder (didn't play in college) who also happens to be the guy that you are positive still fits in your system and plays well. He is also the kid that is grateful that you took a chance on him and is more likely to negotiate a team friendly contract.
They took A, which I am very glad.
