I need help of some of you local Miami/Florida people.

I am from Ohio and a life long Dolphins fan but I have never had the pleasure of going to a Miami home game. That is something I plan to do this year with my son.

I need help in finding out the best hotels, easiest access to the stadium. My son is 12 so staying in a family friendly part of town is very important.

Any ideas on a good hotel in close proximity to the stadium with in good cab distance or driving better.

Also any idea on tickets. I mean I can get them online ebay, stubhub ect.. but anyone know any places because if I am going to fly all the way from Ohio to see a Miami home game I will NOT sit in the nose bleeds. Money is no object within reason of course.

Basically I have never been to Miami period and dont want to just fly down there blind. I have visited some hotel web sites but there is nothing like a really good informed opinion which is what I was hoping to get here.

I appreciate any help any of you can offer.

Thanks

A lot of help you guys are. I guess everyone is too busy complaining about Pat White and Ted Ginn.

Thanks for nothing.

Wow, nothing guys, I'm in Maryland now..but the Ft. Lauderdale Beach area was nice.. There are some nice hotels close to the stadium which are nice areas.. If I can look up the names, I'll get back with you. I haven't been to a hotel in that area because I visit my mother when I go there..but I've driven out toward the stadium and have seen nice hotels close to it..

lol. Well it really depends on what exactly it is that you want to do while here in Miami.

I will suggest staying away from the hotels that are within walking distance of the stadium. There are very nice hotels close by. The Don Shula Hotel in Miami Lakes is a nice hotel in a nice area. It's located in an area with shops, restaurants, a movie theater. The restaurant in the hotel, Shula's steakhouse is delicious. The Brunch at Shula's 2 is great in Dolphins gameday. Oh and the hotel is about 10 mins away from the stadium.
