I was thinking, if this is indeed a low scoring game inwhich the kicking game will become a major component, we might be a bit a trouble with Mare having a bad year.

Remember we also have Wes as a backup.

Wes can kick the short ones in a pinch but we would have to be desperate to get to that point.

If it comes down to FGs..Then Mare betta show up cuzz I've got him on my FFT..

:p

Scobee has been pretty good this year and is 10-11 from under 40 yards.

I think what we need to do is start playing like we are in 4 down territory once we get into the opponents territory. (Particularly in this game vs. Jacksonville.)

For example, if we are 3rd and 4 from the Jax 30, we should attack it like we are going to go for it if we can get a 4th and 2 or lower. So why not run on 3rd and 4 and see where we end up and then attack the 4th down depending on how many yards we need to gain.

The way you deal with a struggling kicker is to get him as close as possible and keep him off the field as much as possible. Play the whole game in 4 down territory on the oppositions side of the field.

Lets hope he will be on target this Sunday because they will really need him.

Man if thats the case were screwed Saban is the cheapest coach in the NFL we had have had a million chances to sign good players but he never spends the money.

You have to give the FG kicker advantage to JAX. Scobee has been automatic this year and Mare has struggled (as we all know). Not good.

Olindo needs to be perfect tomorrow. We can't afford to miss points against such a tough defense like the Jags. I don't have any doubts about Olindo I think he is gonna get the job done.

I agree with that for the most part. All our offense really needs to do is make sure that Mare doesn't have to kick 50+ yard field goals. People tend to forget that he's missed 7/9 of the field goals he's missed this year because they're over 50 yards and 2 of them were blocked. We just need to get Mare inside the 50 yard range for FGs. I think our offense will do alright though.

He's also missed two field goals under 40 yards that were very big at the time. I've simply just lost all trust in Mare at this point.
