i really thought penningtons day should have been done late in 3rd quarter. what ive seen from penny over the years, is that when he is having a bad day , it just never gets better. it really baffles me why henne wasnt in there in the 4th quarter. i think sparano is a stick with my qb no matter what guy. but henne is our future qb and needs to get playing time at some point. i dont think he should start any time soon nor do i want a qb controversy, especially after week 1 . i just think they need to play henne when things go south. this year is very important for him to get some minutes in.

Might have been the small fact that Henne was listed as inactive. Which probably can directly related to his stellar preseason performance.

Once again I think people need to realize that maybe just maybe the FO is not as enamored with Henne as they once were. Naming him inactive in favor of a gadget formation tells you they were not intending to give Henne reps in that game... IN ANY SITUATION.

his inactive status has nothing to do with Henne and all to do with the Wildcat with Pat White...

I am also surprised he didn't come in... maybe Sparano wanted to keep Penny in there to try to give him some confidence... Penny had such a crap day Sparano probably hoped he could move the ball a little to help the teams mindstate for next week...

???? Only way he gets in is if Penny and White go down with an injury, so it had a lot to do with why he wasn't in. Also Henne has looked average at best so really lets stop with the Henne talk about the positives we can take from this.

It's only one game people, get over it.

thats wrong, he can go in at any time... if its before the 4th quarter, that just means you cant bring Penny or White back in... if its after the 4th quarter it doesn't matter either way... he could have played at the end of the game...

and this has nothing to do with starting Henne... its about getting him on the field in garbage time like Sparano said they wanted to do

I was a bit surprised, but I think it had more to do with getting Pennington on track. Not to mention, if he pulled Pennington and Henne directed another garbage time TD drive, the "start Henne" talk would be off the charts.

I too was surprised that Henne wasn't put in in the 4th, but I legitimately think Sparano didn't see the game as over until the final kneel downs.

The problem with Penny isn't his accuracy or leadership or stubbornness or turnovers...it's the fact that it is REALLY hard to get first downs in the NFL and when you are having to get 10 of them to score (with short passes) it leaves absolutely no room for error. This is why you need long pass plays and why we are going to be stuck with only winning games in which we are absolutlely PERFECT.

I'd really like to see Henne in the next game, but even if it is a blowout I think they'll stick with Penny. I could see Sparano being afraid to put Henne out there in front of a Monday Night Football audience, especially with a scary blitzing Colts team (I don't agree with it, but that's what I see happening).

I was not surprised. This is Pennington's team, and Henne hasn't done much of anything to show that he can do better.

how many years has penny played? if he dont know how to gain confidence in himself by now then we are in trouble this year.

THE GAME WAS NOT EVEN CLOSE TO OVER AT THE END OF THE 3RD!
16-0 is a two possession game and our D was playing above average, just couldnt force the turnover. Yes you could say it was over the way our O was playing but all it takes is 1 play to change the game, it just never came, nor did we take that chance, but maybe once or twice the entire game.

it blows my mind how so many think henne is no good because of a few preseason games.penning wasnt exactly lighting it up in preseason.actually i havent seen anybody on offense doing much of anyting to show they can do better. i hope we arent relying on the wildcat to move the chains all year because if so this years gonna suck.

its a 2 td game if you can 100% rely on 2 point conversions. i sure wouldnt.

Really how is that, didn't this board deem Beck was a bust after 3.5 starts? On a terrible team?
