I am planning on taking my 1 year old to the home opener against the Bills (he actually turns 1 the next week). Do you know if I need to purchase a ticket for him to get in? He will be sitting on our lap throughout the game.

whoa. Careful man. My son will be 4 and I'm still afraid to take him to a game (unless, of course I'm sitting in a luxury suite). There are alo of nuts out there who hurl things anywhere with no regard where it lands.
Good luck............

All I can say is make sure your seats are in the shadey side of the stadium... My two year old was miserable the whole time because poor thing had the sun beating down on her

probably...I think you should reconsider, the noise can be deafening and could/would frighten your child to the core....this coming from a Florida boy who took his two month old son out into the rain of a hurricane...to break him in ya know...

anyone under the age of 2 does not require a ticket...

TICKETS - All individuals 24 months and younger do not require a ticket for entry into Dolphins games.

The Stadium Ticket Office is located at Gate G on the ground level. Tickets may be purchased in person at the ticket office: Monday thru Friday from 8:30 a.m. until 5:30 p.m. and on Saturdays, from 10:00 a.m. until 4:00 p.m. Should you have any questions, please contact a ticket office representative at 1-888-FINS-TIX.

Not a good idea, it is loud and everything from the sun to the rain can happen. Your baby and you wont enjoy the game ti its full potenial. Would reconsider and leave the baby at home. Will have plenty of chances in the future to enjoy the best team in football!

You can bring your boy and have a great time! I would highly recommend shaded seats because it is hot and kids get restless and angry in the sun.

My 4 yr. old has a blast but gets bored every once in a while and wants to walk around.

All new dads should take this advise, and not just for Fins games either. We are all speaking from experience too!

No ticket needed! I have taken BOTH my 3 and 4 yr olds to games since my 4 yr old was 1 yr old!

I have been blessed in that both my boys love going to the games and although they have no idea whats going on, they love to see the "football" flying around and the tackling.

Before I took my first son to his first game I put on some of our old games at home and I acted the same way I would at a game. I would scream when we did good (or bad) etc. etc. I constantly pointed to the football and tried to make it as fun for him as possible.

In the end, when we showed up to the game, he was so used to it that although the first quarter he was like "whoa", he got used to everything by the 2nd and was having a blast and didnt want to leave by the end.

Of course, during some of the slow parts of the game, he did want to walk around but it wasn't a big deal. Now with my second son I did the samething and my wife goes with me to the games to help me out with that one. They both sit on our laps and have a good time. :dolphins: Sometimes you'll get lucky in that there will be an empty seat next to you that no one ever comes to and you just put them in it until someone comes or if no one comes you can have them sit in it the whole game.

Personally, it really kind of pisses me off to see people bring such a young child into the stands...its VERY hot and anything can happen in an instant. From fights, to objects being thrown, to someone just tripping over another person while jumping up and down cheering....and what happens if the guy next to you is totally drunk and acting like a knucklehead? Cool, if you are with your buddies, not so cool if you have a two or three year old (or less) having to hear f-bombs being dropped every three seconds and you having to be the one that asks the drunk to chill out.

If you really want to take your child to the game, shell out some bucks and buy tickets in the club level where you have AC blowing down on you or if it gets too hot, you can go inside and sit in the AC on a couch....This year I am planning on taking my little girl (turns 5 in July) and I will be sitting in the club level...it'll cost me some money, but the experience will probably be a much more pleasant one.

My wife and I actually took our oldest son to a game in Miami when he was just 2 months old (in November, so the heat wasn't an issue). We strapped him up in one of those baby carriers that my wife wore, and he slept through most of the game. We had been on vacation in Disney World with her family, and then the three of us drove down to Miami to go to the game. My bigget concern was the noise, but it wasn't bad at all- and he got to go to his first Fins game LONG before I ever did, so he's being raised the right way (as a diehard DolFan!)

I agree that you shouldn't bring your child. I've been to home openers and there isn't a hotter game all season. I remember going to the 2003 opening game against the Lions (when Ricky debuted), and the entire game I felt sick and dehydrated because it was so hot. I had a dark suntan for the next month.

[mod] Your post was uncalled for. [/mod]

so youre the guy at the game that everyone looks at and says why did that idiot bring a baby?

Thanks to hdjetta6316 for answering my question...I looked all over the Dolphins site and didn't see it.

For those advising me against taking my son, I understand your concerns, but as far as the sun goes, I am planning on getting club seats, so if he does start getting hot or cranky, his mom and grandma can take him inside the cool AC while me and my pop stay out and enjoy the game. Also, since his mom is hispanic and I am a dark skinned Floridian, he should hold up oretty well in the sun. When we are laying by the pool or at the beach, he is always lathered up with some 50 SPF.

As far as the noise, we have two dogs (one being an 85 pound lab with a very deep, loud bark). Growing up in an environment where he hears startling noises, like the lab barking at kids in the back yard, has not phased him. On the contrary, when my friend brings his 2 year old over and he barks, even in another room, she cries hysterically. It all has to do with the kid's surroundings...he hasn't been too sheltered from noise so he should be okay.

All in all...thanks for the suggestions.

That was a bit uncalled for...why do you care what one does with his family?
