I know this might be a tad early ahead of the 4th pre-season game but since this game is almost completely meaningless lets look forward to game 1 at Seattle.

On offense common sense would say we need to run the ball against them. They still have 3 quarters of the legion of boom. The question is, is Miami going to be able to run the ball against anybody? Let alone seattle who has a solid front 7 to go along with that secondary. Nevertheless, we have to try to use tempo and 2 TE sets to run the ball and set up playaction. If we fall behind we are going to be pass happy and that's a recipe for disaster.

On defense, Seattle lost Lynch but still have a great oline and should be able to run especially against us. Miami needs to sellout almost to stop the run. If seattle can run well, this game is probably lost. If we do stop the run reasonably well, you still have to maintain your gaps with Wilson at QB. He will take off and may run some read option. Seattle has a good vertical passing game, if we don't get to Wilson he will beat our secoundary.

How do we win? Run the ball and use playaction to take shots. And stop the run. Sounds simple but its not with our weaknesses. Thoughts?

We have 3 pretty damn good WR's. One of them will be on a weaker defender. One of them will have to step up.

Landry or Stills from the slot is where I think they need to work from

Kill that D with Tanny's legs, as long as Ryan REALLY knows when to slide or get out of bounds.

I don't see Miami winning this game at all, plus it is a non conference matchup so that wouldn't hurt us too much.

Although the next several games however will definitely gives us a good idea to see how good this team can be.

They must beat New England, and the browns, and be 2-1 heading to the Cincinnati, otherwise i see them being 1-3 which will be hard to come back from.

Go no huddle and check their conditioning. Teams will not be ready for it early. Avoid 3 and outs and we have a chance. They don't practice facing a no huddle in the Florida heat like we practice it in the Florida heat. This should help the Dolphins even though they TRAVEL TO SEATTLE to play the Seahawks at 4:05 on Sunday September 11th.

Probably not the team you want to run zone read against. Tony Romo was in his slide when the defender grabbed him and pushed him down. They are known for being a highly penalized defense for a reason. I wouldn't want to risk them getting a cheap shot in.

They don't have much on tape vs. Miami unless they have been studying the Broncos and Bears tape. The gameplan is actually simple. Show them something they have never seen before (like the wildcat). If we go head to head with them, they will destroy us.

But the game is NOT in Florida

Look at the 2014 game Seattle lost to SD. SD beat the D with the quick-passing game. Didn't allow Seattle's pass rush to get there and limited the impact of Seattle's best defenders (Thomas and Sherman). Tannehill's style matches up pretty well. It's unlikely that Miami wins, but I expect Miami to have the right approach.

We'll have to nickle and dime them. You trying going down the field and Tanny will get sacked. Our running game has to be short passes to laundry and Simms. We will have to be better on STs and win the turnover battle just to have a chance

Seattle does not have a great oline actually...their oline is one of their weaknesses. A weakness we'll need to exploit. We also have to minimize Wilsons scrambling...our DBs are in shambles as is; but even the best DBs can't cover for 5 or 7 seconds which is what Russell sometimes makes you do as he buys time with his legs...contain, and wrap up.

I expect Wilson to put a lot of pressure on our corners in particular. We are going to be white knuckled trying to watch this.

Some of the beat guys like Beasley are claiming that Xavien Howard may be our best corner. Nice to hear something positive.

Seattle is an extremely tought team to beat on the road but there's no better week to face them there then week one, many teams still haven't gotten completely in synced on first 1 or 2 weeks.

2 things, looking back at the Denver Super bowl against them in Gase's offense. We have to take some deep shots to loosen them up. Manning was still hurt and couldn't go intermediate or deep. Their D jammed everything 10 yards and in. The other thing is Manning was not a threat to run, so their Defensive Ends were crashing down every play! We need to bust Tanne on a few early runs!

Totally agree, but you have to establish the threat as best as you can so they are forced to spy. This is probably why we ran the zone read right off the bat against Atlanta. Give Seattle something to think about, and maybe a couple of times early in the game before they start wanting to get cheap shots in.
