I feel as though most of our WR routes are short, based on timing, and calculated...Now I understand this is sometimes needed because of our pass protection. I would like to see our WR's run deeper routes and have Tanne read the coverage instead of knowing where the ball is going on many plays.

My issue I guess is that our west coast offense is executed in a manner that is more predictable than it should/could be. I feel as though they are trying dialing up plays to protect Ryan from making a mistake rather than encouraging ryan to make big plays.

This is the definition of a west coast offense.

This is why I'm against this style of offense. Any sort of problem (like pass protection) knocks the whole offense out of whack. I'd rather have Henning back as OC (with Tannehill and the new WRs) than run Sherman's offense.

Its also Philbins offense. Sherman just calls the crappy plays for it.

You answered you own question. Our play calling is severely limited because of this OL.

I'm not so sure about Henning, but I agree that the WCO is not the way to go. Look at the last 10 years of QBs who carry their team to Super Bowls. Brady, Peyton, Eli, Big Ben, Rodgers, Brees...none of those guys are running the WCO (as far as I can tell). I think the WCO was great in the 90s when defenders were bigger and slower and still had to do a lot of run stopping. Nowadays, NFL defense is all about speed -- get to the QB and lock down the WRs. Defenses have adapted.

You can tell that our offensive system is crap because look at the WRs that Tannehill is throwing to...they are never, NEVER "wide" open or even near it. Look at how consistently wide open the Bills TE and WRs were on Sunday. How often are our guys that open? Honestly the only time I can recall is when Clay gets open 15+ yards downfield...other than that Tanne is throwing into a window EVERY time. If Thad Lewis was QB'ing the Fins instead of the Bills on Sunday, we would have lost by 5 touchdowns.
