Gase just confirmed that he, Chris and Tannenbuam are all three involved on the process for player personnel moves. Said they are a great group and work very well together. I really don't like the ol Tannenbaum but with Gase saying that, that makes me feel ALOT better.

Listening to him at work now in Wisconsin, I love the Internet! He is great to listen to, I'm really happy he is leading our team.

I think the Rams are following our blueprint. Brought in an extremely young offensive mind to fix the young QB and then hired a guy that will handle the whole defense allowing the head guy to concentrate on offense.

30 year old? Yikes!

He'll have Wade Phillips taking care of the defense though...that takes a lot off his plate.

I'm glad that Gase, Tannenbaum and Grier are working together but they still have to prove they have an eye for talent and someone has to stop Tannenbaum from trading picks away for stupid stuff.

Ya but there is a big difference. The Rams hired a DC with experience and a proven track record. Gase hired a guy in Vance Joseph and now Matt Burke with no experience as a DC before.

you don't trust Gase's decision? He would know this guy best...

I'm just saying you can't compare the two situations. The only way it would be comparable is if Gase hired an experience DC with a proven track record when he first got here.

I'm hoping for the best but there seem to be too many people making Gase out to be some savant because he took the Dolphins to the playoffs and now he's infallible.

Let's not forget that our defense was garbage last year and Gase was part of the decision making crew (along with Tannenbaum and Grier) that decided to draft 6 offensive players and only 2 defensive players. He was also part of the crew that went into OTAs and training camp and the first 5 games of the season with Dallas Thomas still on the roster when we all knew that was a failure. So lets not make Gase out to be this person who's decisions are never wrong or never backfire. Like I said I'm hoping for the best.

IT is always easy to judge outside on the situation...

People question every move a team makes with only a snippet of info, I would assume Gase has been wrong loads of times and made mistakes and will continue to makes mistake. He has even admitted he has. I do like that the coach is involved in the process, working with the scouts and front office will allow them to be able to bring in guys who fit what we are trying to do, that does not mean those players will turn out to even be good players, but atleast it will be coheasive.

I agree that there's no need to proclaim Gase some kind of god of coaching. But at the same time, the first priority was fixing the QB. Let's see how he does when the mandate is to fix the defense.

Gase must be lying. He gets credit for all the good players and everything else is Tannenbaum's fault. That is the protocol around FH anyway. :rolleyes2:

I think saying the defense as a whole was garbage is an imperfect description. The rush defense was garbage. I think we all can agree there. If you look at points per game surrendered, we are ranked at 18 which is just below average (not garbage). Also, for passing yards per game, we are ranked just above average. This is why I think it was more of a lack of quality personnel issue (LB) than the scheme itself. With an infusion of talent, this defense has the potential to be quite good.

I hear ya, but you have to remember, Gase needed time to fully evaluate what he had here. you don't just come into a new place as a "manager" and fire everyone. I am willing to bet Gase wanted to be able to fully evaluate EVERY aspect of every player and he did so. That's why they were cut after week 5. The lineman I mean. it could have been an agreed business decision to go all offense last year with a knowledge of going all defense this year. Our O line was horrendous in 2015 and we really lacked any consistant playmakers outside of Laundry and Parker in the last 5 games. Im just speculating of course but that makes the most sense to me.
