Looking forward to Gator getting some quality playing time. Hopefully he can step it up this week, may have to fill in for Sims longer as his injury may be a little more serious than I thought.

After making the Dolphins’ 53-man roster as an undrafted rookie free agent and catching a pass in his NFL debut, tight end Gator Hoskins has been inactive for each of the past three games.
That could change this week, however, with backup tight end Dion Sims not practicing Wednesday or Thursday because of a toe injury that had him in a walking boot in the portion of practice open to the media both days.
“I’m very excited to maybe even have the opportunity to go out there and play, but I’m always staying prepared and ready,” Hoskins said. “You never know when your number is going to get called.”
Hoskins, whose 10 touchdown catches last season led all FBS tight ends, was active for the first four games before the Dolphins went with two tight ends against Green Bay, Chicago and Jacksonville.
Head Coach Joe Philbin says he’s liked Hoskins’ progress.
“One thing about Gator, he’s a smart football player,” Philbin said. “He picks things up well. He caught on to our system real quickly when he first got here. He’s a guy that we can line up in a bunch of different spots. He’s done a good job and he played his most extensive action in the Oakland game, if I’m not mistaken. We saw some good things from him.”
