Charles Clay lines up at the TE, FB, H-back, and ever split wide as a receiver at times seems like the only other player that can do that is Hoskins. So on that alone I think he'll make the team.

TE's IMO will be Clay, Hoskins, Lynch, & Sims.

I had hoped Graham would hold out and the phins could ship to Egnew to NOLA for a 5th. I wonder if there is still an NFC team (Redskins???) that may make a deal.

Egnew is better than Sims so far, which is more a reflection on Sims than Egnew...

I think Egnew has only had two seasons to develope, this will be his third and Sims' second so they're only one year apart

Yes your right, and Egnew has not been used to his strengths, it was just a year ago many of these same comments regarding dumping Clay were being posted.

IF we go by the Philly O for Lazor, which is no given, they seldom keep a TE in to pass block (5 times a game) but, did have one there to run block on half the plays. One of our TE's is going to have to show the ability to do this, and I'm thinking it will be Sims.

Lynch is a good blocker too its down to Sims or hopkins in my opinion. Egnew is gonna be used better and thrive. Just my opinion. Sims doesn't offer much as a receiver the way I see it but I'm not sure Lynch does either

Right now I see Gator on the practice squad. It's not as talented or as sexy as the wr battle, however the tight end battle with Clay, Egnew, Sims, Arthur, Hoskins and Miller could be interesting. Clay is a lock, but if you stripped the names and draft status and just judged each player by production this pre-season I don't think there's going to be a big gap between the number two tight end and the number 6.

Two seasons in Clay had still made more nice catches in actual games than Egnew will in his career. Clay always had some decent skills, though I will admit thinking he was a good sub player but couldn't have the impact he had last season. I do think he is due for a regress this year, since some of his catch and runs that boosted his stats probably won't happen the same way again.

Have to partly disagree with you.
Saw most of Lynch's games at UGA and thought he was very good at getting open down the middle.

I'm not expecting the regression...he showed the ability to juke, break tackles, lose balance and still keep going. Unless he loses that, he should be great again. That 4th and 5 against N.E. was pure beast.

Lynch is sneaky good as a receiver. He doesn't have explosive speed, but it isn't slow either and he can find those soft spots up the middle for decent games. People who think he's just a blocker will be pleasantly surprised. He's a Fasano type dual player who excels at neither but is very useful and dependable at both. Obviously I'm talking about college production and we have to see if that will translate. But I think he will to a decent degree.
