I end up having to watch a ton of Packers football. Rodgers has taken teams with limited amounts of talent and made them not only competitive, but frequently one of the last 4 standing in the league. He's also a guy whose play style has been evident for a while in that he throws playmaker balls that are very difficult to defend if the receiver is on the same page with him but when you've got guys who don't know how to make themselves available to the QB it doesn't work. It's not all that dissimilar to how Tua is an MVP candidate with receivers that know how to play the ball and make themselves available, while when he throws balls to Durham Smythe he lets defenders come over the top of him to make interceptions on balls he didn't know how to fight for, or turns away from the QB on a 4th a short right when the QB is about to throw the ball.
Yeah things have been ugly in Green Bay this year - but remember, this is the same organization that had an MVP, HOF-level QB still dealing, and reached to select an underwhelming QB prospect in the first round who was another Malik Willis-level prospect who was really a mid-rounder prone to be overdrafted because QB. And that QB has looked like garbage in practice, preseason, and regular season. There was a time when more talent passed through Green Bay than any other team in the league, and almost all of it was drafted. That ended sometime partway through the Rodgers era, and since then they've just been another mediocre team made a good team solely because of QB play. Green Bay might be headed for an ugly divorce, and both parties bear some responsibility - and it shouldn't be forgotten that Green Bay dug a hole for themselves in this whole thing.
