Salaries for individual players will be taken from NFLPA.org between now and the start date and are frozen for the entire span of the season. The only way a players salary changes is if he is released and then resigned via free agency.

There is no penalty for cutting a player.

if a player has a cap value of 3 million and you release or trade him, the entire 3 million is subtracted off your cap.

Once a player is traded his entire salary is transferred to the acquiring team.

The salary cap for the 2004 GM League is $57,000,000. You will need to be under this number before the start of free agency...and stay under for the remainder.

HOW FREE AGENCY WORKS

All tags and tenders must be submitted by the start of free agency (sometime in march).

Here is the list of the 2004 costs if you place a tag on a specific positioned

player.

CB:
Franchise - $5,084,900
Transition - $4,462,450

DE
F - $3,730,000
T - $3,102,907

DT
F - $3,355,000
T - $2,666,500

LB
F - $2,890,000
T - $2,420,000

Safety
F - $3,152,933
T - $2,498,966

OL
F - $5,118,689
T - $4,282,345

Punter/Kicker
F - $1,115,000
T - $985,250

QB
F - $6,694,800
T - $5,627,400

RB
F - $3,260,400
T - $2,901,800

TE
F - $1,702,250
T - $1,336,903

WR
F - $4,571,000
T - $3,850,500

You must place a tender on all the RFA's and ERFA's you have that you plan to

keep. Remember you get right of first refusal to match what they are offered. If

you do not, you get compensation based on the tender.

Exclusive Rights (no one else can sign these guys) $300,000
Original Draft Round (match offer or get a pick (original draft round) from bidding

team) $605,000
First round draft pick (match offer or get a first round pick from bidding team)

$1,318,000
First and third round draft picks (match offer or get a first and a third round

pick from bidding team) $1,758,000

To acquire free agents, we will use a bid format here on the league website.

All the bids will be able to be seen as it stands and the highest bid that goes 24 hours without being matched wins.

You cannot cut a player you signed in free agency.

HOW THE DRAFT WILL WORK

The 2004 GM League Draft will be held live at a date and time to be determined. We

will do as much of the draft as
we can live. Time limits and such will be discussed the day of the draft.

If you are going to miss your slot leave a bullpen list with someone else

to automatically make your pick.

A bullpen list will look like this.

Minnesota Vikings
1. DE Jamal Reynolds (if he is not available go to pick 2)
2. CB Nate Clements
3. CB Fred Smoot

You get the general idea.

From the second round on the picks will be done as soon as possible in the same

format as the first round. If you are not available leave a
bullpen list to choose from.

We most likely will have draft pick salaries this year. Those salaries will be determined in the near future. You will need to keep track of your picks and what they will cost to ensure you do not go over the cap on draft day.

Um, I have a question, how do we determine what to pay our UFA?

it kind of stinks, but if they are UFA, you have to go into a bidding war with all the other guys when free agency starts if you want to get him back... really the only possible way to do it. Everyone has to though, so it's pretty fair.

you do have the option to franchise and transition two players(one each, or two transition) and the salaries on in a thread towards t he bottom of this page.

but other than that, yeah, you lost all the others :(
