allright, as i've been "on vacation" for a few days now (3rd "vacation" this month, i believe), i haven't had time to respond to anything, so i'll put it all here.

first of all:

fire larry coker

i said it after the vatech game. i was more scared of wake forest, georgia tech and virginia than i was of vatech. why? because coker doesn't care about those games. it's become more and more evident over the years. well, it's not that he doesn't care about the games, but he treats the lower competition like that: lower competition. of course, he apparently fails to realize that EVERYONE plays their hardest against miami. people are calling the gatech victory "shocking" but seriously how shocking is it when it's a common trend over the past 3 seasons? you can even go back to the '02 season when they played down to ohio state in the fiesta bowl (people complain about the refs, blah blah blah...that game should've NEVER been in double OT. miami was MUCH better than OSU). anyone notice soemthing about kyle wright? his best games this year were against FSU and virginia tech. he has no problem getting up for the big games, but the games like USF and georgia tech, he looks completely clueless. wonder why? see, back in the butch davis days (which includes the 2001 championship year; that was NOT coker's team), when we played tight games, we had the players to step up and win them. notice i said PLAYERS. nowadays, we don't have players, we have athletes. see, davis would recruit great athletes and coach them up to be great players. coker gets athletes and expects them to become great players. this defense is fast as hell, but overpursuits everything, and the playmakers on offense and special teams think with their legs, not their heads. as someone else said in another thread, coker is going nowhere. he's doing the lloyd carr thing and winning just enough games not to get fired. i really regret taking down firecoker.com, but i do go a t-shirt thing up at cafepress.com/firecoker. check it out

second point: go USF

i know everyone hates the BCS and blah blah blah, but USF going to be the sugar bowl would be a GREAT story. 9 years ago this school didn't even have a football team! their first year in 1997 they were playing teams like kentucky wesleyan, and just a few years later, they have a chance to get to the freaking sugar bowl. this is a team that's never even been to a bowl, period. in fact, they've never even been RANKED before. bad for the BCS, but GREAT for USF

3rd point:

i don't want to offend anyone here, but this is JUST MY OPINION. okay? so don't hassle me for this. okay, here it is: reggie bush is good

if he doesn't win the heisman, then go ahead and stop giving out the heisman. seriously. no one else is close to him right now. he also pretty much locked up the #1 pick in the draft, which is good for the dolphins, as maybe leinart can drop far enough for us to trade up, or (looking at how we played sunday), we may not have to trade up at all

other things:

LSU is better than penn state; paul pinegar is getting too much razzing for that USC game. he made bad decisions, but overall had a great game, and i'll admit that i underestimated fresno state; calvin johnson is ridiculous. easily the #1 receiver next year, and if brady quinn declares this year, he could easily be the #1 overall propsect for the draft; oregon could sneak their way into a BCS game

 welcome back. I trust you had a good weekend.....

first thing: keep larry coker at ALL costs. Anyone.... and I MEAN ANYONE who can get Michael Irvin to shut up for 3 months should be nominated for Time Man of The Year.

second thing: I too have been rooting for USF for the past few months but for a different reason. I want to see a 3 loss team in the BCS. Just more ammo to can the BCS in 2007.

third thing: Completely agree, if Reggie doesnt win the Heisman, its robbery. The guy is a gamer. His only problem is Leinart might take away some of his votes. Hands down he is the best player in college football.

other things: let the psu/lsu debate begin. Although its really hard to say who is better until they play on the field..... I will offer these points.

1) All BCS computers have PSU ranked higher. All computer but one has PSU as the #3 team in the nation. Only 1 computer has LSU ranked INSIDE the top 5.
2) PSU's loss was a 1 second loss to Michigan on the last play of the game. It was pretty controvertial that 2 seconds were put back on the clock earlier in the game. LSU's loss was to Tennessee. I dont know how they lost to Tennessee. Overall: Michigan >> Tennessee
3) PSU has defeated the higher team. OSU is currently 6th in the BCS right now and is PSU's best win. LSU's best win came in overtime against #14 ranked Alabama. Overall: OSU >> Alabama

There is a reason why PSU is 3rd over LSU, these are some of the reasons. Im not trying to take anything away from LSU. They both played very hard schedules against very good conferences. PSU only played 3 teams this year that were not ranked at some point in the season. I believe LSU played 6 unranked teams this year. And if USF wins the Big East, PSU also beat a conference champion.

Only way Oregon gets into a BCS game is if the Fiesta Bowl chooses PSU over ND and then the Orange Bowl takes ND. The Fiesta would never have a PSU/OSU rematch. ND brings a lot more money than PSU. If ND wins next week, I think the Fiesta takes them first.

there's been two 3-loss teams in BCS games that i can think of already. FSU and pitt

So you think that he's better than your boy now? If so, what made you change your mind?

i don't see what has to do with calvin johnson. johnson can't declare till next year's draft

Do you remember what you wrote?

Am I misunderstanding what you wrote? Because it seemed like you said that Quinn could be the #1 QB in the draft.

i should've said:

and if brady quinn declares this year, johnson could easily be the #1 overall prospect for the 2007 draft
