...to protect from season-ending injury. The caveat the genie includes (purely for his own entertainment) is that it must be a ranked list. Who do you put on the list?

Put another way, which five players do you believe are most critical for the Dolphins' success this season? Or, the loss of which players would have the greatest effect on the Phins' win total?

My list...which was harder to come up with than I thought:
1. RT
2. Minkah (yup I think he makes that much of a difference as a chess piece)
3. Sitton
4. Raekwon
5. Jones

Tannehill x 5

Sure. I don't think there's any arguing he's #1 by a long-shot, as are most starting QBs. Just based on the evidence from last season you can argue he's worth 4 wins and likely even more with the QB depth we currently have.

But what about after him?

1. Ryan Tannehill
2. Minkah Fitzpatrick
3. Laremy Tunsil
4. Devante Parker
5. Ju'Wuan James

5 of our last 6 1st round picks. Dion Jordan delete, delete, delete. It's bad karma to post what I typed so I'll stick with delete.

RT, Tunsil, Parker, James, Phillips.

RT needs to play well and have time to throw, Phillips and Parker need to realize their potential if we are to make any noise.

RT
James
Minkah
Gisecki
Drake

This is an interesting list, especially James at #2.
I presume you're thinking about Gesicki as adding a dimension to the offense without which we'll be hampered significantly (kind of like Minkah on D).
I thought about Drake vs. Jones at #5 for my list...felt like the running game could survive without Drake...but so could the back-end without Jones. Drake definitely adds something different to the backfield. I dig, I dig.

Tannehill - QB most important position

Reshad Jones - good for a couple game winning / changing plays per year (see INT vs Atlanta or TD vs Titans last year)

Cam Wake - still only consistent double digit PR on team + leadership

Drake - would lose a dynamisicsm from the position in both the run and pass game that would hurt

Stills - no legit deep threat if he goes down.

Note: I did not consider rookies or guys who haven’t played yet like Raek as we don’t know if they are going to contribute in a meaningful way yet.

I don't know man I feel like its going to take a team effort for the run game to be better than last year. While Drake and Gore are good individually the Colts and Dolphins ranked 22nd and 29th in rushing yards. Drake and Gore are both going to need to not get hurt especially with only a rookie 4th round pick backing them up should one of them go down.

Ryan Tannehill
Kenyan Drake
Xavien Howard
Minkah Fitzpatrick
Devante Parker

Parker makes the list simply because I want to see what he can do if he remains completely injury free... something we havent seen yet

Tannehill
Drake
Sitton
Raekwon
Minkah

I don't really know why I picked those names in that order, but this is like the lottery and those are my numbers. I could easily do five more...

I don't see why Jones would be on this list. We'd still have TJM and Minkah while other spots we don''t have the depth.
Also, I love Drake but we'd still have Gore and Ballage

1-Tannehill of course
2-Phillps. With no Sue he better stay healthy and have a great year or we're in trouble stopping the run
3-Sitton-the O-line is key
4-RM. We really need a MLB that can play
5-Quinn- He should be our best pass rusher this year. If he goes down then is Harris(unproven) and Wake at like 35?

Ryan Tannehill
Laremy Tunsil
Josh Sitton
Reshad Jones
Raekwon McMillian

Honorable mentions Mike Gisecki (really don't want his growth stunted), Kenny Stills, Kenyan Drake, Xavien Howard, Minkah Fitzpatrick

Tannehill
Drake
Kwon
Howard
Minkah

No Jones for me because we won a bunch straight after his last injury ... but he is important ... especially as veteran presence/leadership for the young secondary. McDonald is a more than capable replacement so it is what it is.

No olinemen for me because I see a promising, versatile group there ... but Sitton and Tunsil loom large.

No Quinn for me because there is a lot of depth at end ... although uninspiring.

Gesicki was close but he's a 2nd round rook TE ... so I'll cut him a break.

And I've fully drank the kool-aid on Minkah. I think he'll be so important to the secondary in so many different ways that his loss would cause a shitty ripple effect.
