No, it is not necessary to have a DIRECTV subscription. Each Anniversary Edition aspecial code for eligible gamers giving them the opportunity to unlock a special, 2013 regular season (17 weeks) trial of NFL Sunday Ticket on computer, tablet and mobile devices.

I think I'll definitely be getting it. The issue I wonder if I'll have though is streaming speed. For example, I can load youtube and other sites videos decently fine, but anything from miamidolphins.com or nfl.com load horribly slow, so I wonder how this would be

I have heard it does not work via ps3.. A lot of people assumed it did. PS3 last season was choppy and lower quality. I've only heard good things about it via computer(laptop hdmi) to tv. Apparently there are a lot of week 1 issues last season but were immediately corrected as far as speed and quality. Also heard 50k was the limit per system allowed to sell with this promotion.

Seems like a great deal, as its sunday ticket for 40 bucks if your a madden fan. Which brings up my most important question.. Dion Jordan speed? I'm praying for an 86

I was prepared to pay for either the Sunday ticket online for ps3 or a to buy a slingbox to ship to my brother in s. fla. can watch on my tv via hdmi from computer, or ipad airplay to appletv. pumped!

A lot of people have over thought this because of the way they worded it. The way I see it is, I play madden, i'll gamble my $40 to get the mobile NFL Ticket and if it doesn't work then I have my streams and I don't feel guilty about it because I technically paid for it haha

As stated, the code comes packaged with the game. The article talks about the DirecTV thing. Basically, they can't prove if you can get it or not. Even if you live in an area with DirecTV, maybe your landlord doesn't allow you to have a dish, etc. All you have to do is say you don't have access to DirecTV when it asks you, and you should be able to stream Sunday Ticket.
