getting away from the wildcat?

todays stats:

2 plays, 2 yards...both on runs by ricky and ronnie.

the only other trick play used was the ronnie pass to martin that went for 23 yards and was fumbled.

the patriots game:

8 plays, 25 yards..

I think the confidence is there with pennington and the young recievers that we do not need to use the "gimmick" as much. In addition to ricky and ronnie doing well splitting carries as it was in 2005. IMO it will be still used on a weekly basis but to a limited extent. possible in the redzone or past mid field. thoughts?
 
we should use it alot more.... who cares what the wildcat haters say... they just jelous cuz were racking up the yardage
 
Put it to rest for a few weeks . . . and week 17 . . . just bring the playbook out.
 
We used some different formations this week that havent really been used much I think we went to other shot-gun formations instead of the wildcat and still showed them some different looks that way. Plus when chad was at qb we ran pretty much the play we run out of the wildcat were ricky comes in motion and takes it from ronnie... except it was ronnie in motion and took it in stride from chad, pretty much a wildcat play just not in the formation.
 
I don't know why we don't try to run it to the left more, quite often its a ghost town over there and the few times we have tried it we usually get good yardage. Plus it gives Ronnie the chance to run over some little def back in open space.
 
Yikes! It feels like everyone is trying to do the Wildcat now. I could be wrong but i thought i saw it during the FSU/UF game.
 
we had 3 plays from Wildcat
one were ronnie handed it to Ricky and it went for -3 yards
and the other 2 were back to back in the 3rd Quater i think but the but the first of these two went for 5 yards and the second was a very low snap so it only went for one
 
Everyone is game planning for the WILDFIN (I just love writing that instead of wildcat:lol:) and we have to use it at the right time in the game. It did not work well today. Haslett had his crew ready for it. Stuff like that happens.
 
I was there today. I will watch on Tivo to review but there were 3 wildcat plays (not counting the identical to wildcat plays run with chad getting the snap). Two of the wildcat plays had bad snaps and i believe they were both out of a new formation with no Chad Pennington for the first time. After they ran the first wildcat where they totally shut down Ricky, Ronnie was slightly faking to the left and when the play ended he sort of signaled to the coaches that is was open to the left on the backside. They waited until 3Q to try again and this time they took out pennington for an extra blocker, perhaps to run it left. but consecutive bad snaps ruined that. I do think they had a new wrinkle to add but satele ruined the plays.
