At first, I wasn't excited when we used our fourth round pick to choose him. I was hoping we went after Kyle Orton or Adrian McPherson with that pick. But now, I'm getting kind of excited about him. I've been reading a lot positive reports about him. The main thing that I like what I've heard so far, is that he has very good instincts and excellent reflexes (or reaction) to a WR cuts. I wasn't crazy about his 40 time, but I know 40 times can be overrated at times when it comes to judging a player, and this may be the case with Daniels. If he has good instincts and excellent reactions, that makes up for any speed he may lack in comparison to the other DBs that were picked before him.

I think Daniels and Madison will hold it down this year as our DBs.

I agree, with a little experience and some help from the front seven I think he will do just fine. I expect him to be a good corner for us for years to come.

im also excited about travis im hearing good things its just to bad poole went down

True, but can you imagine if we had gotten the other LSU corner. The one NIck wanted in the second? Nick knew both!! I like Roth but that would have been sweet. WE could have grabbed McPherson in the 4th then as well.

we need mat roth taylor isnt getting any younger and we need a young pass rusher with his skill and intencity good pass rushing will benifit our corners

Yeah Daniels will start this year, he and Poole could be our next Surtain and Madision

BY all means, it sounds like hes getting used and abused in practice. I guess we will have to wait if he's either prone to this or its a learning process.

My only concern with Daniels starting is experience. CB is one of the hardest positions for a rookie to come in, start, and have success. However, Daniels situation is unique because he played for Saban in college, Kind of not making him a rookie.

While Daniels possesses individual talent, this is also...

a strong indication of the teaching skills Saban utilizes as well. Saban has the reputation of an excellent teacher. I just don't know if he can continue to coach up only 5 healthy corners. LOL!

Yeah, Poole will be in mix next. Everybody is forgetting about another young corner we have under wraps too. He could challenge Poole next year. I'm talking about Shirdonya Mitchell. I've seen him play before, and he is good. If he comes back 100% next year, we could have a gem, like we found in Ogunleye.

Not to push out Madison cause I want him to stay as long as possible, but Daniels / Poole sounds real good.

with sabans defence experince and how he coaching the hell out of the dbs we will be ok dont forget with all his different schemes will help are secondary if its a little weak this year look at the pats last year
