I don't follow soccer, yes it's called soccer damnit! But, there's a story making headlines here; I don't know if you guys have seen it.

After Ghana's victory over the Czech Republic, one of Ghanaian players, John Pentsil, waved the Israeli flag. He plays in the Israeli league. A lot of Israelis are now pulling for Ghana. Now, I'm pulling for several teams: the US first, Brazil (I love the country and its people) and Australia second, then Ghana and Mexico (Tortore said he'd come over here and beat me up if I didn't j/k), and then the rest of Latin America.

Maybe it would be easier if you gave us a list of teams you're not rooting for.

I saw that...is he an Israeli citizen? That was a nice gesture of support.

One question: It says your location is in Israel. Do Israelis call this game soccer and not football? I always thought that was only the US, Canada, Australia and New Zealand (at least I think it's true in their case). Also, I know Japanese call it sahk-car after the word "soccer".

If anyone here is really knowledgeable about which countries call it soccer and football, I'd appreciate any info (preferrably with a link, but even without one it's info I can go on and check myself).

I've only been Israeli for a year and a half. The Hebrew word is kadooregel, which means leg ball.
