just something I have been wondering but have never seen posted (even though it probably has)

what is the reasoning for Ricky being in motion most of time instead of Ginn in the Wildcat??

Ginn would be better if it turns out to be a pass play to him and he'd be quicker gettin to the edge....

didnt they do a double reverse with ricky going one way and ginn coming the other way?? i thought they did. but i agree. wouldnt mind switching players in the wildcat. ginn taking the snap ronnie motioning. so many things to do. thats why sparano said that they barely tipped the iceburg that is the wildcat.

Ginn keeps a DB and S occupied most of the time.

good point. but not on a wildcat play. hes usually singled. no need to double if ur QB is a RB and 95% of plays out of that offense are run plays. u need that S to come up into the box.

+1

For a GREAT example of this, see the San Diego game. Ginn had minimal impact according to the stat sheet, but his speed is so respected throughout the league that we just terrorized San Diego with that Wildcat.

.

Maybe the 5 fumbles last year and 3 the year before

I seen Ginn line up at QB in college and take it in for a td. It worked great....but thats college and he's SKINNY!!! Im not sure if a d lineman hit him in the NFL he wouldnt break in two.

i believe in the wildcard game, haloti ngata blindsided ginn during the ed reed return for td. he seemed ok

am i alone in thinking that the wildcat wont work as well for us this year? the main reason why it was successful IMO was the suprise factor.

i think we might be better off if we dont use it for the 1st 5 or 6 games so people think we've moved away from it, then spring it back on them in the 2nd half of the year.

I agree that it will become less effective but Im sure we will still use it if not for anything else but to keep defenses thinking about it. The coach that enployed it for Arkansas said it becomes less effective over time so he should have some insight.

He actually only had three fumbles on offense. The other 2 "fumbles" were muffed kicks that he dropped before picking back up.

You can spin it anyway you want but the fact is when Ginn handles the ball he fumbles
again 5 times last season
3 times the year before

Yeah but fumble implies that he dropped the ball when he already had possession of it and a muffed kick is more like a dropped pass. To count them the same as actual fumbles seems disingenuous.
